As it was put elsewhere, MLP has the fact it's a veritable meme factory going for it. Twilight is just **** by every measure.

At least ponies aren't horribly written Mary Sue characters that are hollow standins for the reader and angst nonstop about having everlasting youth and superspeed/strength/etc.
That, and Kristen Stewart I think is pretty fugly.
