Since all I have done this weekend it seems is ******** and beating a dead horse, I figured it couldn't hurt to step back and be positive. I have recently returned to WoW from an extended hiatus. These are the things I need to take the time to appreciate:

1.Healing is enjoyable again. Cata at release almost killed it for me, and I have had a Holy Paladin as a main since T4. Healing was not an enjoyable prospect anymore, not because it was challenging, but because the dynamic had changed in a manner that I felt leached the fun out of it in a way different but just as broken as WotLK. While I was gone they changed some features of Holy paladin (Mastery, HL xfer on beacon etc). I am enjoying keeping bad players alive again. Thank you Blizzard!

2.Firelands. I don't get the complaints about it being too short, but I haven't been raiding it since it has come out. The fight mechanics are interesting, the open space is refreshing and I don't mind the nerf since it lets me catch up on gear! The Molten Front dailies makes for a nice alternate means of gearing, with access to pets and recipes. The lore is solid and the daily hubs are quicker with less flying around than ToC dailies.

3. ZA/ZG, particularly Jindo. I love the mechanics on that fight.

4. PvP. I am guilty of skipping pvp from S5 onwards, I picked it up and I am as terrible as ever but once I reached 3k resilience things felt "right" and I wanted to PvP again, where wotlk burst killed it for me.

5. My hunter rocks, that is all.

As much as I ***** and moan there are still reason why I play the game, there are more that I did not post above

I remember when they were fresh and new. :3

Just a fair warning, the dailies are designed so that additional quests keep being added as you progress, but the old ones don't get disabled. So you'll need to start your day outside the portal, head inside to the first area, then the next area, etc.

It gets... rough... after a while.

I have finished the Molten front quest chain, by recently returned I mean 4-6 weeks back :P. I managed to make 12k gold in the process which is nice an replace some 359 gear with 365 which was nice. I didn't mind the gated nature of it, and preferred it to Tol Barad.

I have no idea how many marks you get per day when you do those dailies, but after realizing I would need 350 or so to open all the vendors, I just left and never looked back.

I'm also enjoying PvP more this expansion, for the same reason. I skipped over PvP most all of WotLK and got back into it this go around. It's a lot of fun.

Short answer... not enough. Eventually I think you can get ~22 per day, but the whole process to unlock all the vendors takes over a month of doing the dailies EVERY DAY.

This. I pretty much don't do dailies any more.

Bodhisattva being positive about Cata? Smiley: jawdrop Glad to hear you are finding things that you enjoy. Hopefully I will get caught up on my new character to experience the Deathwing fight before MoP comes out and forces me to roll my very own Kung Fu Panda. Smiley: tongue

This. Most of the gear obtainable wasn't significantly noteworthy. The time required also seemed obscene. With the next patch within sight I figured I'd spend my time doing something that wasn't going to be trivialized...like...um...I don't know.

I totally agree. After heavy battlegrounding in BC, Lich Kings BG had me retired from PvP in less than a couple of weeks. I tried a number of times during Wrath but could never stomach much of it. It was just lolburst. It was a joke. I recently started queuing for BGs for this Halloween achievement and found it was actually enjoyable again. Even with absolutely no resilience it was tolerable and now with some PvP gear its nice...they cleaned it up. Sure there are still some flavor of the months and some a little more OP than others, but that's PvP.

Who are you and what have you done with Bodhi? O.o

Honestly, I've had my disapointment and burnout with Cata and what did I do?

I stopped playing for a while, same thing I did with wolk, BC, and vanilla Wow.
I'm back playing now and enjoying every minute of it. Will i stop again for a few weeks or months? Sure! but this game seems to get one thing right that most other mmo's struggle with, and that just having fun.

Oh btw I totally agree with the Pvp, way better this xpac.

I've never left (I had a months break once because I didn't have internet access, but that's the longest I've not played and it wasn't by choice), but I did give up on tanking once WotLK came out. I've recently leveled a druid tank, not been brave enough to try full pugs, but I've tanked a few heroics and trolls with guildies along and they seemed to go smoothly enough. Recently got to tank BoT and BWD for guild alts and other than forgetting to interrupt (too focused on trying to press the right buttons), some positioning issues (Nef doesn't move very fast for something that big) and tanking in my dps gear and not noticing until I tried to use my survival trinket it went rather smoothly. Hoping I can get the chance to tank FL at some point and also looking forward to Blizzards idea of giving tanks more of a survival rather than threat generating focus (assuming that is still being considered).

Also managed to up my hunters dps by 3-6k (depending on boss) compared to my numbers in the previous week's FL run (probably a lot to do with gear improvements, but I'm going to give myself a little credit for better cd use) so I'll have to agree on the hunter rocks front.
