The zones are great - the first time through. Unless you suffer from anterograde amnesia, second, third and fourth time through is boring. Fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth time through is just overwhelmingly not fun. I don't know about tenth time as I fear it'll be the end of me.
Some of us enjoy replaying things we've enjoyed after a bit of a break, so for many, that second and third time through were probably enjoyable as well.

Unlike the previous pony and lion mounts I really like the look of this one. Also I will most likely be playing wow for the next year so I will probably sign up for this. Going to be a bit of a pain if I have to pay for it on my credit card though rather than the debit card I use currently.

I most likely won't try diablo 3 or the beta, so I wouldn't have considered it if I didn't like the mount so much.

Just signed up for it after reading about it tonight. I don't play WoW constantly but I go on and off as I feel like it and have had a subscription going in three month blocks for a while, as I shifted in and out. I'm not into D3 to the level of needing the CE of it so I'm happy to just get downloaded from Blizz on release day. Guaranteed beta entry will be nice as well. My lady's pretty interested in the next expansion so I'll be able to cover it for her and/or others as well when it comes.

Nice prize for twelve months of WoW time.

Like a couple of others on this thread I would probably be playing WoW for the next 7 months or so anyway, and was thinking of picking up D3 as well, so it makes sense to get a decent deal out of it. And a mount! I'll just have to make sure I disable automatic renewing of the subscription - there's no guarantee I'll want ANOTHER 12 months in a year's time.

Edit: I'd misunderstood the annual pass, I assumed you would have to pay for the full 12 months upfront, rather than continuing with whatever payment plan you like but committing for a year. Still, as I'm tied in I'll probably try to go for the longest term / highest discount payment they offer.

I only would if there was a big discount for a full year up-front, $13/mo (for 6mo) isn't low enough for me. Make it $10/mo and that would make it $5/mo for WoW with a $60 game effectively.

Or give me D3 and the next expansion for free.

Broke down and signed up for it last night. Figure it was cheaper then other options I was considering, and I get a free game. If I stop playing WoW after D3, well hopefully I can find some doodads to sell to make up for the difference in price from keeping WoW going until the next expansion.

I'm gonna sign up for it tonight when I get home. I don't plan on leaving WoW any time soon and the free copy of D3 and the free in-game mount are just bonuses.

Without this I probably wouldn't have been able to justify buying D3, but now I'll get to try it out. This may even prompt me to get the collector's edition of D3.

Oh, and the free 4 months of WoW are only for people on the Annual Pass who buy the D3 collector's edition. If you read the answer about that it's fairly clearly stated.

The way I see it is ... I will more than likely keep WoW going for awhile and since I want the CE of Diablo 3 anyway...

I am going to be subscribing to WoW for the next 12 months.

I am going to be buying the Diablo 3 CE.

I will get four months of WoW for free after I attach the Diablo 3 CE code to my Battle.net account.

Those four months will actually get applied during that 12 month contract period.

I am not losing anything at all by signing up for WoW Annual, but gaining four months of free WoW.

Plus I get all of the bonus stuff from doing WoW Annual and the Diablo 3 CE, and the "free Diablo 3 digital download" is just fluff since I am getting the CE.

...I am not sure how this could be a bad thing unless you think you may not be a WoW subscriber for the next 12 months.

Same here. I signed on for the WoW pass on Saturday. I'm still thinking about upgrading to the Diablo III CE though - I usually buy the CE versions for the soundtracks (great to listen to at work). I didn't buy the CE for Cataclysm and still found the soundtrack on iTunes for $9.99. The Lil Deathwing is cute, but I'm not a huge pet collector so it's not a big deal for me. I have the BC and WotLK expansions and I've maybe looked at the art books once each and I'm fairly certain I've never cracked open the "Behind the scenes" DVDs...

Definitely passing on SW:TOR - no interest - I'll stick to Bioware's next Dragon Age game (if one is being made).

Yeah, I ended up getting it mainly due to my guestimation that the Mists content will last until about a year from now for me. Total guess of course. And hell, I'm going to buy D3 anyway. I do not expect that I will be playing WoW in 6 months anywhere nearly as much as I do now (which is far less than a year ago actually). But it's a small price to pay to still do some content with my guildies and friends in-game who won't be joining me for SWTOR or GW2.

Honestly, I'll probably spend the majority of my game time in other games by the end of this subscription. But until then, seemed like a decent deal.

I've signed up for it. Though I will be getting both D3 CE and SWTOR and playing them as well. It seems like a good enough deal to me, free mount, free D3 Standard and 12 months game time.

I still don't get all this "Cataclysm fail" rhetoric

At launch PvE balance was non existent. I believe it took from Dec 7th until March for the worst of the major pve balances to be reached. I think a lot of players were not ready for the increase in grind and difficulty when it came to farming heroics to get raid ready. There have also been claims that due increased focus on revamping the 1-60 content that end game content was neglected, a point which Blizzard actually touched upon over the weekend at Blizzcon.

There are factors outside the product itself which should be mentioned, the completion of the WCIII & Frozen Throne story arc, age of the game is very important, poor economy, competition from other MMO's etc.

I think it is also important that even an expansion that has seen WoW "Plateau" or in some sense decline in a very minimal way is still only a failure in relation to any other WoW expac, in terms of the competition it would be a success they could only dream of in terms of units sold and subscription base.

I signed up because:

- I'm likely to have stayed subbed for at least 10 out of the next 12 months, if my past record is any indication
- My friends (the 2 that I have left that still play WoW) signed up, so I won't be alone
- Switching from monthly to semi-annual billing will save me $24
- Diablo 3 in Canada would have undoubtedly cost $59.99+13% tax = $67.80
- That's a total of $91.80 saved. That's 6 months of WoW at the monthly rate
- Beta access is a nice toy
- A free mount never hurt anyone (though that was definitely not my motivation)

I think I'll pass.

As much as I like WoW, I have played since 4.0 dropped non-stop and am now a little bit burned out. When D3 drops or most likely even before that I will temporarily quit WoW. Then D3 comes along and I have some time in which I won't miss WoW. And then when I pick it up again 6-10 months of the annual pass would be over already. So for me it's not that good a deal.

I was already on a 6-month payment plan, so it was an easy decision. The perks are quite good. Diablo 3 for free!

It's a trap!

Sorry, couldn't resist. I've never played Diablo myself, so I'm not too interested. Now, if they were offering Heart of the Swarm instead or as another option, I'd be tempted. For now, I value my freedom to jump ship when I choose :) Happy for those who find this a good deal, though.

From my understanding of it, anyone who adheres to the one-year plan is free to drop out of it without financial repercussion. You would, however, lose the in-game perks and access to the WoW beta test.

I don't believe that Blizzard will demand the balance of payment on the unfinished year.

From the FAQ:

Quote:
Can I cancel my World of Warcraft subscription at any point during the 12-month term?

By taking advantage of this special promotion, you are committing to a 12-month World of Warcraft subscription, and you cannot cancel your subscription until the 12-month term of the agreement has ended.
#46 Nov 21 2011 at 5:46 PM Rating: Good
The only way to really cancel once you sign up for the 12 month commitment, is if your credit card gets declined at some point.

I tend to buy my WoW in the 6mo batches. I dn't know if a 1 year pass would be much heal/savings and stuff like mounts and non-functional things don't really get me excited. Combine all that with a poor performing computer.... I can't imagine D3 would do well on my laptop - so...

No.

One interesting thought.

I'm currently hedging my bets in that I'm signed up on one account but not the other(s).

If I do then I going to get 2 x D3.

Are they tied to my account or can I sell one? Since I don't see much use in having two copies that only I can play Smiley: smile

Pretty positive that the D3 copies are tied to your account. If I log in to my battle.net account right now, I see Diablo 3 listed above my WoW licenses with "pre-download not yet available" written where the account info would be on a WoW account. So I don't know if there's any way you could transfer that to someone else's battle.net account.

I agree with Tellaria. If you want to sell it I'm pretty sure you can only manage that by selling the entire Battlenet-Account with all associated games.
And we wouldn't want that now, would we? ;)

No way I'd jeopardise my accounts that way. But it does make it a less attractive package for multi-account holders.
