So will you sign up for the WoW Annual Pass? I'm trying to decide if its worth it or not.

On one hand I get free D3, a Mount, and Beta access when it comes out.

On the other hand It feels like Blizzards luring me into a trap because of the enormous changes to the game.

What are you deciding to do?

I thought I read that if you get the CE for D3, you get 4 months of WoW game time. I have to go back and check, but if that's the case, I'll just get the CE.

When does it expire? Do I get to mull on things or is it gone on Monday?

I think its for a while I didn't see any thing stating it was a limited time offer. It might be a constant thing, available all the time.

What if I purchase the Diablo III Collector's Edition?

If you decide to purchase the Diablo III Collector's Edition when it's available, and then choose to add your Collector's Edition license key to the Battle.net account associated with your existing World of Warcraft Annual Pass promotion, you will receive all of the benefits associated with the Collector's Edition, plus receive four months of World of Warcraft game time which is eligible towards your 12-month subscription commitment. After you purchase the Diablo III Collector's Edition you just need to input the product key into the Battle.net account associated with your World of Warcraft 12-month commitment and that account will then receive the next 4 months of World of Warcraft game time for free. For example, if you already had a month of game time on the associated World of Warcraft account when you input your Diablo III Collector's Edition product key, it would then be 5 months until your next subscription payment was due.

That reads like it could go two ways. Either the 4 months of sub is only for people that get the annual pass, or it's for anyone that buys a CE and has a WoW sub. Hmm...

I'm still on the fence.

I'm not sure anything I'm really interested in is going to happen in the next year or so in WoW (well after 4.3's release at least). For the most part I had the feeling the year would be to fill that gap between 4.3 and 5.0 when the game starts to feel rather stale. If I was 'for-sure' going to get D3 it'd be a no-brainer for me; it'd get it. Instead I'm weighing whether or not I'd rather have D3, or play SW:TOR, or something else entirely.

I will probably drop WoW (again!) and just play DIII when it comes out.

They've said it's a limited time only thing, but haven't specified when the limited time end.

My theory is that this is their attempt to keep people playing through the summer and pre-expansion lul. Before MoP comes out and after we've done Deathwing to death, we're going to have the same sluggish subscription drop we had before Cata. This is them trying to combat that through bribery.

The way I see it is ... I will more than likely keep WoW going for awhile and since I want the CE of Diablo 3 anyway...

I am going to be subscribing to WoW for the next 12 months.

I am going to be buying the Diablo 3 CE.

I will get four months of WoW for free after I attach the Diablo 3 CE code to my Battle.net account.

Those four months will actually get applied during that 12 month contract period.

I am not losing anything at all by signing up for WoW Annual, but gaining four months of free WoW.

Plus I get all of the bonus stuff from doing WoW Annual and the Diablo 3 CE, and the "free Diablo 3 digital download" is just fluff since I am getting the CE.

...I am not sure how this could be a bad thing unless you think you may not be a WoW subscriber for the next 12 months.

(..and yeah... I'll be playing SW:TOR too)

Anything else come with the Collectors Edition?

A bit.

And that USB drive has Diablo 2 preloaded onto it. The skull is the holder.

I already have D2+Exp registered to my Battle.net, so thats not worth it to me.

I don't expect to hate this from what I've seen--quite the opposite in fact. The mount is no big deal for me but Diablo 3 is so I'm signing up.

Done. I have expendable cash and an uncontrolled love for mounts.

I'm not sure yet. As much as I love WoW, I honestly have no idea what is going to be going on in my life in the next year. With the economy in the *******, and me about to graduate from college, I don't even know if I'll be able to get a roof over my head, let alone play WoW too. Part of me really wants to do it, but the other part just doesn't know if it's a good idea.

I'm going to do it mainly since I fully plan on playing WoW for the next 12 months (and beyond) and because I really like the look of the special mount. I was not planning on buying Diablo but if I get it for free, I will probably actually try it out though I don't think I will spend a lot of time on it.

I chose to get it... not sure if I will go for the ce of D3 or not yet, but am thinking about that... would be better if that jump drive was larger imho...

I won't be doing it.

Even if I was actually still interested in Diablo, I just wouldn't want to make a 12 month commitment to WoW.

I'm looking forward to 4.3, and I'm most certainly excited about MoP. I don't want to miss out on either one, but there is no saying whether or not I can be bothered to play in between those.

Done and done. I was already on the 6 month plan, with no plans to quit (although I don't play as much as I used to). So it was just pure win at no extra cost.

I'm getting antsy in Rift, I tend to jump back & forth in factions, and 2 diff servers. Can't seem to stick, but that might have been caused by the 3 friends who started with me quit.
Have even been thinking about Smiley: lol going back to FFXIV, seeing what changes they've made so far and if I can get some levels before they change everything in the next year.

This..is very tempting, but committing for an entire year, after the Cataclysm fail...I'm gonna think about it.

I've thought about it even though I'm currently not subscribed. Assuming I don't get the D3 collector's edition and do the 6 month at a time plan twice to reach the requirement, I've calculated the cost per month of the game to me to be $7.99 a month after I take away the cost of D3 that I would get by going all the way.

Just, I don't know how much I'll want to play until MoP. I'd hate to jump on it when I have little to no interest in the game currently.

Done. I'll be hanging out till the next expansion anyway. I might as well get a little extra for it.

I still don't get all this "Cataclysm fail" rhetoric. Granted I have yet to do any raiding, and probably wont till it's long past current, I think this expansion has been great. The new zones are fantastic, the old reworked zones are great, and game play, for me anyways, has been just fine.
I play it for what it is, a game to enjoy and relax with. I have enough stress in real life not to get all worked up over some balance issues or whatever the case may be.

The zones are great - the first time through. Unless you suffer from anterograde amnesia, second, third and fourth time through is boring. Fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth time through is just overwhelmingly not fun. I don't know about tenth time as I fear it'll be the end of me.

The streamlining and phasing stuff makes it fun to experience, but it also removes choice. You can't skip a quest, because then you'll not phase out and the quest hub won't be available. That sort of crap.

1-60 is like playing a single player RPG. Then you hit Outland and Northrend and it's like someone went up to you and punched you in the face with a brick of condensed boredom. And at level 80 you then go back to playing your single player RPG until you cap level, park your rear in Ogrimmar/Stormwind and, joing the queue for a random dungeon, go AFK for 10 minutes.

And if you're a non-Paladin healer, first time in a level 85 dungeon is going to be like playing whack-a-mole with a bamboo stick while you're on a cocaine and caffeine cocktail.

Enjoy.

Edit: Sorry, just finished a 5-page essay of ultimate wtfness in two hours. I'm sorta hyper. Exaggerating for effect, etc.

Got an email from Blizzard today, offering me 14 free game days. Smiley: lol
After hearing about the million-plus loss of subscribers this year, I think maybe we all should wait and see what other goodies they might offer up to returnees. Smiley: sly
