I don't play anymore....Follow

...but I wanted to give you all a heads up.

I have my email on my iPhone. So around 11:00 am Central time today, I received a bunch of emails from Blizzard. I haven't played WoW in a long time. Apparently, someone not only hacked my battle.net account, but they also hacked my email. As I was staring at my inbox on my phone, wondering why I was getting password reset emails from Blizzard, they disappeared before my eyes as someone managed to hack my email and delete them.

I used to have an authenticator on my account, but I got a new iPhone and stupidly didn't load the authenticator app back onto it. So I removed it from my battle.net account. I have since re-added it. I just wanted to post this here to let you all know to be very careful if you don't have an authenticator. I'm not sure what happened, or why anyone would even want my characters, to be honest, but things are getting fixed. I may not be playing right now, but I don't want other people ******* with my ****, dammit. Smiley: grin

Oh, I also looked at my account management page, and apparently whoever it is managed to pay for a month of service, and set up a recurring subscription. I think I may just re-download the game and play on someone else's dime until they can get that fixed. Smiley: sly ******* hackers.

It sounds like somewhere, someone who bought an account is about to be very sad. Well done!

Enjoy yourself, the game has changed a lot.

I had the same thing happen around this time last year. Even down to the person paying for a subscription. It wasn't enough to get me playing at the time, but between that and visiting my brother-in-law and seeing him play it got me back into WoW in February of this year.

And now I'm thinking it was all an elaborate hoax by Blizzard. I am now signed up to play for a year so I can get a sweet mount, be a motherfreaking PANDA, and get Diablo III for free.

I'm such a sucker.
