I get the impression it's more like you commit to a year, but how you pay is up to you. If you want to pay 2 6-month subscriptions, you get the lesser price per month. Or you can pay monthly.

Honestly it doesn't make much sense to me if they do it like that but that's what they seem to say.

That's what I think is going to happen too.

You guys are misunderstanding.

You can be on any recurring payment plan, you just agree to keep your sub active for 12 months.

So you can do the deal and be on a 6 month at a time plan, get the discounted rate for WoW and get the free copy od D3 and the mount.

Make sense?

Well, it looks like you don't have to pay the full 12 months ahead of time like you do with the three month and six month plans. You're just saying that you're going to pay for your account for 12 months, but you can still set it up so it only comes out once a month.

I guess that makes sense, for those that live paycheck to paycheck (yet still play WoW) and don't want to take a larger amount of their budget for WoW expenses they can still pay the $15/mo instead of paying for 3-6 months in advance.

The most important question I can think of now is, since there are 11 classes are they going to allow us to have more than 10 characters on a single server?

I guarantee this will be asked at some point.

From the monk page:

Quote:
Monks are masters of bare-handed combat, choosing to draw their weapons only for devastating finishing moves. Monk healers bring harmony and balance to every group, healing even the most grievous of injuries with ancient remedies and focused spiritual arts. And few can hope to out-last the unquenchable prowess of the Monk Brewmaster, whose empowering beverages and unpredictable combat style allow them to absorb incredible amounts of punishment.

Pandaren Racials:

Quote:
  • Bouncy: reduces fall damage by half.
  • Inner peace: double rested XP.
  • Gourmand: +15 to cooking.
  • Epicurean: double stats to food buffs.
  • Quaking Palm - You touch a secret pressure point on an enemy target, putting it to sleep for 3 sec.

Pandaren Classes: Hunter, Mage, Monk, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warrior

At level 10 you choose between Horde and Alliance.

The female model isn't done yet.

Monk details:

Quote:
General
  • Brewmaster - Tank spec
  • Mistweaver - Healer, a healer who can stand up in melee and will let players experience a "new healing style"
  • Windwalker - Melee DPS
  • This is not a hero class, and it will start at level 1
  • The class is very martial-arts based
  • Lots of monk-only animations, the healer and tanks will have different stances they can stand in, etc ...
  • Monk Races - All of them except Goblin and Worgens

Items
  • Leather Armor (Agility or Intellect)
  • They hit a lot with hands and feet
  • They will need weapons for some finishers: Staves, Fist Weapons
  • They will also be able to use 1H Axe and maces, swords
  • Healers will get off-hands, they don't want healers to use shields.

Resource
  • Chi (energy) slowly regenerates and is only used for your Jab and Roll abilities.
  • Jab generates Light and Dark force, which are used for everything else. Some finishing move uses dark force, some use the light force.
  • No auto attack! Devs want you to have this street fighter feel where you punch a lot.

They did it in FFXI already why not WoW. Now those pet collectors have something to do with all those pets.

Actually, I realized I committed a tactical error up above.

The most important question isn't whether we'll be able to have 11 characters on a single realm.

The most important questions is whether Rawdeal will come into this thread and admit his "inside source" was at best half right.

Is it just me, or does the double food stat racial and double xp racial seem really really OP?

Good to know there is a female model in the works. Was going to be pissed if there were only boy pandas.

Talent Changes

Quote:
  • Pro - The level 10 specs were really nice and gave you a role early in the game, definitely a keeper.
  • Pro - Removing junk from the talent trees was also a very good move.
  • Pro - Having some kind of choices for optional skills/subspecs worked out pretty well.
  • Con - You had a risk of "skipping" important talents
  • Con - There wasn't enough junk removed
  • Con - There wasn't enough choices, you might have a different final talent point than another combat rogue but it just wasn't enough. The cookie cutter build still persists.
  • Con - No enough customization, no true hybridization (Using a little bit of 2 different trees)
  • Con - Players got grumpy

  • The talent system is gone! Ok, not really, but it's greatly changed.
  • You now have your class abilities, your spec abilities, and your talents.
  • You still choose your spec at level 10, and you get a spec ability at level 10.
  • You will get additional spec abilities later.
  • There are anything that you really need to function, they will just be given to you to make sure you have all the tools you need to have.

Example - Prot Paladin
  • LVL 10 - Avenger's Shield
  • LVL 20 - Hammer of the Righteous (Prot and Ret)
  • LVL 30 - Judgement of the Just (Passive)

Talents
  • There is not talent points or ranks.
  • There is one talent pree per class.
  • You earn talents every 15 levels.
  • You get to choose 1 out of 3 every time you get a new point, you can only pick one of them and can't go back to get the other ones.
  • There will be no mandatory talent.
  • You can now change talents as easily as you change glyphs.

They better give Worgens the Monk class so I can get rid of these silly things you people call "weapons" and rip some face off with my claws.

Quote:
Character builds are going to be entirely revamped. Talents were still too cookie cutter, so the developers want to give players more choices in their talents.

Seesaw goes back and forth. Perhaps limiting people into one talent spec for 68 levels wasn't the best way to give players more choices...

Anyway, looks interesting. Might subscribe for a full year for the mount and D3, assuming the offer also works here.

I hope they're going to mix in some Azeroth with the leveling, or at least the end-game. I don't feel like spending the next couple of years in an Asian themed world. World of Kamehameha?

PvE Scenarios
Quote:
  • PvE Scenarios are a way to give new interesting content that doesn't make sense in a dungeon content.
  • Scenarios are more about reusing parts of the world in interesting new ways, and introducing new types of PvE gameplay that we've never seen before like PvE battlegrounds.
  • They are short instances for a few players, the amount of players can vary depending on the scenario, some of them can be for 3 players.
  • You don't need the typical tank/heal/dps setup, you will just be able to enter and play your role no matter what it is.
  • It will be a staged experience where you will try to accomplish some greater goal
  • For example, a scenario might require you to kill 25 kobolds in stage 1, then find and return 4 goldshire children, and then kill the boss.
  • Developers would like to do PvE battlegrounds, where you will have to slay 50 alliance/horde soldiers, destroy 6 towers and the barracks, and then defeat the enemy General.

Doubling the rate rested XP accumulates? Eh, I don't know. It's certainly something that's not critical to gameplay, I put it in the same category as the human +rep bonus, or the goblin discount bonus. A nice boost that wouldn't change class balance. I wouldn't be surprised to see it be something more like +50% when all is said and done though.

Food buffs I'm 'meh' on. They don't seem to have another advantage (+crit, extra enrage, etc.) at the moment. Seems kinda goofy to have a bonus you have to reapply. Imagine if you only could use your orc enrage in a BG if you stopped at the graveyard to eat for 10 seconds first.

Placeholder concepts that will likely get further tweaking IMO.

Also I plan on having fun with bouncy. Smiley: grin

What's with the coloring, though? So much pastel.

Can't help but think of a certain DreamWorks movie...

Edit: What's funny is, I've never seen Kung Fu Panda. The thought of pandas doing martial arts is a little... crazy. But I remember the Pandaran from WC3. I just thought they were a joke. A fun thing, like the ending that features Arthas a rock star, critters that explode if you spam click on them and various units making pop culture references if you spam click them.

As far as I remember, Pandaran didn't exactly have a big influence on the game, or the games leading up to it.
