Shelter your weak, your young and your old! Each of you shall pay the final sum! Cry for mercy; the reckoning has come!

And by reckoning, I mean, it's finally time to get that damn mask achievement if you don't already have it. Looks like they've changed the whole thing to a vendor system. Smiley: yippee
Quote:

Before we get onto our guide, we'd like to cover the immediate changes for those who already are familiar with the event. There are quite a few with this event for this year, including new items and a new currency system: tricky treats.

Gone are the days of trick-or-treating hourly for a chance at an extremely rare mask or a rare vanity item. Instead, the event has been streamlined into a vendor and daily system, very similar to Noblegarden. One new vanity pet, Feline Familiar, makes its appearance here on a vendor, for example; meanwhile, old favorites, such as Sinister Squashling are also purchasable. There's also Creepy Crate from a short questline.

Tricky treats are obtained through dailies and the pumpkins spread throughout inns on the map. You will get two treats for every inn you visit, as a one time only reward, along with a potential for a mask, wand, or other fun holiday item. You then spend the tricky treats at vendors outside of your capital cities.

Even though the helm and the ring will be a nice upgrade for my DK, I'm still going to ***** about how the sword has agility on it. Agility users got a weapon for Brewfest. Smiley: glare

Still, I'm excited. Have yet to get the Horseman mount on any of my toons yet, and now that I have 4 85's instead of 2 80's, I have better odds.

I've never tried the Headless Horseman... is it "as easy" as Coren Direbrew? (which was a breeze) or a bit harder?

Not by much. Every time you reduce the Horseman to 1 HP, his head pops off and you have to switch targets. He also does a couple other things (adds, bombs, something else maybe?), but nothing that makes it actually challenging.

And so begins another mount grind. Good luck everyone!

Oh, my DK has that helm and it will absolutely be one of my transmorg sources! MWAHAHAHAHAA! =)

Will pair good with Archaeology, IMO. Since you're in the area for the buckets, might as well grab a few digsites.

How DARE you Pold!

Don't try to spread the agony of archeology to others. You and I both well know that it is only a path of darkness and pain that leads inevitably to madness... RUN AWAY!

And yet, it's strangely more satisfying than doing Northrend again...

I suspect you need more kool-aid. Smiley: boozing

Yeah... slightly off topic, but I seriously can't wait for 4.3 and the changes to having Northrend and Outland dungeon quests inside like all the Vanilla dungeons. That will make leveling through Northrend so much less painful.

The big nerf to exp needed per level 70-80 will help, too.

I'm too drunk to drink that crap.

... or to level through Northrend again. No thank you.

Back on topic, this is my favorite holiday ingame or out. I'm just glad we don't have to set 1-hour timers anymore for trick or treating. Has anyone figured out the maximum amount of badgers possible for this yet? Not sure if we can buy everything or not from the info I've seen so far.

I'm at 210 badges without doing the stop the fires quest and any followups from it, from visiting every EK and Kalimdor inn for the bucket, outlands, working on northrend and cataclysm zones. At 150 each for the 2 purchasable pets I don't have I require dailies giving tokens to provide enough tokens to not have to wait for next year. Haven't really seen what if anything is a daily yet.

But I've been on one character doing it for much of the day.... this is going to take a while to do on the lowbies... might just focus on the 84 and level them this way ;)

For the record, the Creepy Crate is the coolest pet ever.

I love how a tongue sometimes pokes out and licks the lid.

Yes Mazra that pet rocks! Keep it out a lot if your guild doesn't have the kill 100K critter achievement as it appears to count towards it, for something that will zap critters when you're out and about anyway.... got to get that on a few more characters still.

Planning on doing buckets in between AV battles this coming weekend. There should be just enough time to hop from inn to inn during the short holiday weekend queues.

Did combat rogues/hunters really need another slow agility sword?

Oi.

I heard a rumor that Blizz might change the stats on the sword to strength, since it was originally intended for plate dps. So if you do get the sword you might want to hang on to it. Just a rumor though, someone on my guild said it.

Does the sword drop off of the body or the daily loot bag?

I've killed him on five characters since Hallow's End started and I've seen nothing but rings (especially the healer ring, holy crap).

Both the helm and the sword come out of the daily loot bag.

That is so stupid. The items are BOP, right? I'll bet my Shaman loots both at some point while my Warrior gets nothing.

With 4.3 and higher ilvl weapons coming up, they should just make the swords BOE, like the Tankard from Brewfest, and then make the mount and helmet drop off the body so that people have a chance to farm it instead of praying to the RNG gods that it'll drop at least once in 14 kills.

Totally agree Maz. I got the helm on my priest yesterday, which is cool and all but she can't do anything with it. It'd be nice if the squashling was BOE too, but that seems to drop enough that I probably won't have issues getting it on all my 85's before the holiday is done.

I got the helm on either my druid or my shaman, I forget which. I'm sure I won't see it on my DK or Warrior. I'm not overly concerned with there being another Agility weapon, since there is at least a crafted Str-DPS axe and a 1H tanking sword.
