Yeah, but if it spread evenly to everyone, that could still be an interesting new form of tanking. It's not like there's as big of a discrepancy in health between dps people as there used to be.

Isn't the point of tanking to keep damage OFF other party members?

Mitigated damage is mitigated. Smiley: nod

But 1000 damage split 5 ways is still 1000 damage.

Yes, but it would have been 2,000 if it directly hit a clothie. Smiley: grin

Honestly I dunno, I'm just having fun with the idea... Smiley: lol

No it isn't, 1000 damage split 5 ways is 200 damage per person, and is barely worth mentioning.

It depends on how your AoE heal works. Priests and Druids can heal 5 targets in a single GCD relatively easily. For Paladins (Light of Dawn/Holy Radiance) and Shamans (Healing Rains/Chain Heal), AoE healing requires more careful positioning or multiple GCDs.

I want to meet up with the two women I met two years ago--Megan and Barbara. Played some Wow, drank shots at the bar and played with each other all night.

That's what's on my wishlist this year.

Last year was a bummer. Only hooked up once. She was ok, but not like the women of past years.

And NOTHING like Megan & Barb!

Well, I got to meet up with Barb on Friday. Some good tunes, some 'party favors,' some booze. A good time was had by all.

And she moved near me, so we are going to meet up for some more fun in a couple weeks.

So at Blizzcon, I got half my wish. But in a couple weeks, the other half will be forgotten, for sure.

;)

I think you underestimate Healing Rain. It's very, very powerful when combined with Earthliving Weapon.

In raids, it's awesome. In 5-mans, getting 3 people to stand in the AoE? I have better luck getting my cats to take a bath...

Edit:

It's the same with Chain Heal. It works great in raids where people clump up. In 5-mans, people are all over the place, and I'm lucky if I can get a second bounce out of it.

I actually have no problem getting people to stand in Healing Rain. The radius is pretty wide and the one rDPS I can't hit with it will just get a Riptide instead.

Chain Heal bounces quite often for me, unless I'm having a blank moment and uses it on the aforementioned single rDPS out of range of everyone.

Generally, though, people seem to have realized that "blue circle means I live" whereas my Druid still has issues with people doing a barrel roll out of Efflorescence the moment it lands.

Then again, I suppose a lot of it has to do with how you run 5-mans. If you stand back with the rDPS out of range then yes, that's one less target being healed by Healing Rain and Chain Heal. I usually stand very close to the mDPS and tank, like between the rDPS and the mDPS. This way, even a Chain Heal on the rDPS usually bounces back and into the mDPS group through me.

Also, if people show a tendency to spread out instead of clumping up, I tell them to move closer to each other. If they don't, they die. Few heroic bosses have an enrage timer, so I just let the rDPS die and let the mDPS pull the load.

So far it's worked out well. Had the occasional complaint, but most of those people saw the light when I told them to stand next to the other ranged DPS rather than running around like a headless horseman.

Yeah it took me a while to get used to the new green circle of Efflorescence too. I think if they would have designed the first boss in ZG a bit differently, or the trash in ToT, that would have helped. We've been programmed to stay out of green stuff on the ground though, so it's kinda hard to break that mind set for the avg player. That's why GTFO is such a great add on. I try not to rely on it too much, but it's nice getting yelled at when you're standing in stuff that can kill you. Sucks when you're doing old content though. >.<

I love GTFO...it seems to start beeping at you before the graphic even shows up sometimes. Also great on fights where the AoE extends further than the graphic (like the fricking fire on the ground on Rag).

Just wait until you try Heroic Rag. It's like some horrible seething offspring of Rag and Heigan's dance.
