RAW, a detailed response would be beyond the scope of WOW general and risk thread lock. If you had an adult level of reading comprehension, you would have noticed that I replied to something that was posted in the form of a question. Let me walk you through it:

Criminy wrote:
The only big thing that was bad about Cata (ignoring the class balancing issues) was the annoying amount of complaining people do yet still play the game.

See, this guy in China posted.

Quote:
/signed. Couldn't agree with you more Criminy.

Then this young lady, a voice of CCP oppression whose very "name" indicates she wears her hair in pigtails and thus might be the sort to perform opera in a Mao suit, posted. Then, Mazra asked a question, which I clearly quoted but in relevant portion will reproduce below:

Quote:
what is the alternative?

Thus, where exactly is my attempted control? Oh, yes, of course. Your understanding of the First Amendment of the country you are now living in is that you have a right to express yourself, but others do not.

Quote:
Appeal for freedom of speech in China

Nice try lad, but you're using the Red Herring fallacy and doing it poorly. I've taught US Constitutional Law (inclusive of the First Amendment) here, to classes with a high proportion of Party members. Before you try for your next easy target, I've also taught US IP law to young patent examiners here. Yep, Business Ethics too. Actually, I have been doing something, what about you?

Quote:
That's it, you're trolling. You have to be.

He is. He posts under the name "RAWDEAL" in caps.

Quote:
ya, i don't like commies

Oh, dear, were you under the misapprehension that I'm Chinese, or just having a Varus moment and equating being a Democrat with being a "commie"? One of us was born in the US and served in the Army downrange of the Fulda Gap when NATO (to which France did not belong) was using the tripwire theory to deter Soviet expansion. Was that you, RAW?

Quote:
Just talking about someone who's trying to tell us what to post and where (

Nope. Put down the wine and put on your reading glasses. I answered a question. Take it up with Mazra.

Quote:
When you talk about "bun bun" do I redirect you to your Facebook where peoples maybe cares about you personal stuff?

Swing and a miss RAW. You see, the format of the Weekend Goals thread includes a RL segment. Since you are attempting to be personal, I'll check ... no, seems you've been free to post about your golf, cooking, GF going to Italy, and how you sold your account.

Want to play more. Citizen Genet? We might get another round in before this gets locked, possibly two if the admins cut us slack for debating which one of us seems to be trying to control things.

Well crap. This thread has officially gone to hell in a hand basket.

Apathy isn't exactly known to bring about change.

While that may be true, there is little point to constantly venting about something that nobody on this board is going to be able to fix.

The point isn't to bring about any changes (I don't think any of us are that naive). It's to ventilate frustration. Some people are better at bottling up frustration, while others, like me, have to vent every now and then to avoid snapping necks on puppies and such.

I understand it can be annoying in the long run for people to read another sour outburst about something that isn't going to be changed, but suck it up, and remember: the pointless vent probably just saved a puppy.

Smiley: wink

If it gets entirely out of hand, there's always the tiny red arrow.

Edit: Just wanted to point out that pretty much every vent ever posted here has been about something none of us had any control over. Guild drama, PUG issues, RMT, PvP, etc. I don't recall the last time someone vented about something that any of us could actually fix.

Edit: Christ, morons. You're supposed to rate down my vents, not my explanatory posts. Since I know you can't fix it (oh yeah, I went there), I took the liberty to add this edit so that the post now constitutes as a vent. Fire away. Smiley: rolleyes

Oh, it isn't really politics, we're simply discussing reading comprehension skills and RAW lacks sufficient English to be able to express himself.

Quote:

Tsk,tsk RAW, your troll-fu is weak. First you want me to do something about free speech, then I point out I'm actually over here doing things like teaching Constitutional Law, now you come to this? I know, you're sulking because you think the mean Chinese are going to keep you from getting Pandaren. Don't worry, Kung-fu Panda was a big hit here. Go forth and sell your accounts with confidence. (Yes, I don't hold much regard for account sellers.)

See Xarus, it's all about the Pandaren. No politics here.

It's to ventilate frustration.

That's well and good, but then those who might (as you acknowledge) be a bit worn out with the vents have an equal right to comment and do their own venting. That's the way free speech works, it applies both ways. To defend one's right to vent, and deny others equal right to complain about the vents would be ... hypocritical?

Rawdeal, you ask if it's a spoiler or fake, and then you react antagonizingly to anyone who says it's a fake. I think you did not post the title question in good faith.

Don't try too hard to stretch your belief. I went into the military and then paid for my own education after ETS. You want an answer to your "question"? Very well, I came here to die, which was supposed to have happened not later than last year. Before that time, I wanted to indulge an interest in history by seeing China first hand. I've quite enjoyed the time I've spent preparing Chinese students to study abroad and giving classes such as Constitutional Law. Nope, not seeing anything to be ashamed of. So, Citizen Genet, what have you done to justify your existence?

It's Rawdeal, any poster that has been here for a while will notice his post quality is like riding a seesaw. We are just at a low point right now. Which at this rate is going to **** off an admin and they are going to come along with a chain saw and break that seesaw. Laughs will be had and tears will be shed, maybe the whiskey will go to my head...

Yeah not really relevant but still fun song. Oh and NSFW and all that.

I'm glad you haven't died yet Rhode. Smiley: grin You're an awesome poster. And you aren't a crazy and obnoxious Frenchman.

And no Raw, I'm not going to spank you. You see, I actually have to respect someone for me to do what they tell me, and well, I don't respect you in the slightest. Mostly because you're an obnoxious little prick. You probably behave that way because you have one as well. Sucks to be you.

Aww, but I was gonna make a thread to ask you all to help me on my dissertation on the ramifications of totalitarian regimes within the Horde and how to introduce democracy to the Sin'dorei.

Also, for just copper a day, you too could sponsor a poor little nublet here. You'll get monthly letters from your nublet, as they are given dungeon runs, BG groups and even informational pamphlets on how not to suck at either. Which they will promptly try to eat.

Indeed it would be. It's one of those paradoxical(sp?) things, I believe. Venting about venting about venting, etc.

Anyway, how about we just get drunk and revive the Official Rant Thread for some ***** and giggles and +1?

Alas, I was talking about even trying to ride in a taxi -- if one can get a licensed taxi rather than a gypsy cab or three wheeler. Smiley: eek Panda-monium!

Logs? No, you just get to aim for a currently empty spot in the road and hope. Lines on the road are only paint and freely ignored by everyone, direction of traffic flow is given only slightly more regard, and traffic signals without a camera are pretty lights. You do this while the three wheeler swerves around a bicyclist, only to by passed by a van which may in turn be suddenly passed by the impatient rich guy in his upscale car. The bicyclist is pretending he can't see anyone, the three wheeler doesn't care (don't bet he's even going with the flow of traffic), the van is driven by a guy juggling three cell phones and the rich guy isn't going to lose face by slowing down for anything. Buses and trucks make things even more fun by throwing "mine is bigger" into the mix. They've just put in a pedestrian overpass next to our university to cut down on the number of students who fail at frogger.

That works for me! Smiley: grin Wait, what? We weren't supposed to be getting drunk already? Why didn't I get the memo? Beers to you!
