The only big thing that was bad about Cata (ignoring the class balancing issues) was the annoying amount of complaining people do yet still play the game. I can put up with classes having balancing issues. I can put up with buggy encounters. I can put up with a community that is difficult to handle in lfg. What grinds my gears though is the amount of complaining the current expansion is and how horrible the game is now, yet the people sit in IF/SW/Org with their thumb up their butt expecting the game to miraculously change because that particular player deems it necessary. Smiley: motz

Only one leak I heard about ogres and that is the one that sounds like the work of a kid who thinks they are good but is mediocre at best.

I've been digging around for data on WoW subscribers fine enough to see what sort of curve they take between patches/expansions. No luck (plenty of folks referencing, but no full data or even a current chart, maybe my google-fu is weak this late at night), but I have noticed that since at least 2008 people have been declaring WoW's peak and that it's all downhill from there. "TBC/Wrath/Cata ruined everything good about the game and here's my badly-made chart to prove it."

Also, do we count the global recessions into declining subscription numbers in any way? If I do find data it would be interesting to compare with other MMOs or things like Cable/Netflix. Is there a MMO that's been successful long enough (if not AS successful) to hold next to WoW in comparison for the current time period, or do they just roll out and roll back in again? Maybe EVE, or XBox Live or something.

/signed. Couldn't agree with you more Criminy.

Again, I'm going to say that I highly doubt that this information is accurate. I do kinda wish that the faction thing is true though. I'd love to play a NE (or a female Draenei) but I can't stand the Alliance in general, and my guild is Horde.

What are you guys talking about? This is all confirmed, you just have the wrong sources. ;)

(Yes I know there are tons of red flags in this to show it is fake, and someone making wild speculations. I'll believe it when Blizzard says it. Or it is found in the game coding by mmo-champion.)

What's with the faction bashing? Go roll an alliance toon you "can stand" and play, there's a whole other side of the game that you're missing out on by being horde or alliance only! If necessary take the race that you hate least but get some exposure to the story, it's wicked the difference... yeah the story parallels in lots of places with just having different quest giver for basically the same quest!

I don't want to turn the thread into a Horde vs. Alliance debate, but I have my reasons.

To be fair, people have been providing constructive criticism since before Cataclysm was launched. They didn't listen then, which is why people are now allowed, in my opinion, to don their "Told you so!" t-shirts and prance around Orgrimmar and Stormwind as they see fit.

A lot of people have also invested years in this game and probably stick around out of nostalgic reasons, hoping that Blizzard will be able to bring the game back around at some point. I'm guessing the next expansion is the last chance. If they mess that one up, we'll likely see a drastic decrease in active subscriptions.

Personally, I'll play the game as long as it is able to entertain me, which it currently is. Some things - a lot of things - about the expansion still annoy me, but it's not bad enough that the game is unplayable. Just bad enough that I feel like letting Blizzard know.

And I know it can be taxing on other forum-goers to constantly read negative things about the game, especially when it's about the same bloody issue every week, but what is the alternative? Apathy isn't exactly known to bring about change.

Yeah, except the Worgen actually appeared along with one other race in the game files. There is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that any of this is going to happen save for some random post on the Internet.

I continue to subscribe because I have a 40-50 person guild (not characters, individual people) many of which I've known for years. And yet in spite of deep dissatisfaction with Cataclysm we're hopeful the next expansion will resolve the failures of Cataclysm and there is no other game that comes close to WoW. Sure there are some great games (like Rift), but they fail to grab me. Its more of the same, except with a different, more clunky skin. Yes, WoW has had 6+ years to refine it...and I'm not about to sit around 6+ years for another game to get where WoW is now. If we get another pathetic expansion of more of the same, then we will be seriously considering suspending our accounts and moving elsewhere. But for now, 15 bucks a month for a game and a chatroom isn't bad, even if we don't like the current state of it.

This whole post sounds like a bunch of garbage. It hits every nerve everyone wants hit. I'm not saying that Blizzard doesn't like to please or that they want to pick something we'll hate, but they generally tend to be far more creative than simply responding to random desires.

I'd also like to point out that the supposed zone between Tirisfal and Ghostlands is probably just the placeholder for Stratholme. If you look at the apparent size of Stormwind, and Stratholme was about that size, not to mention Deathholme actually borders just norther of Stratholme, it is really reasonable to assume that "zone" just represents the inaccessible area that is Stratholme.

There are absolutely no references or suggestions I'm aware of that point to a missing zone there. Unlike Gilneas which we've known was around since at least early Burning Crusade (I can't attest to anything before that since I didn't play).

While that may be true, there is little point to constantly venting about something that nobody on this board is going to be able to fix. Have you ever seen a blue post here?

Go to forums where there is at least some measure of official Blizzard activity or organize protests in Org, but go someplace where the people you want to hear you will actually have some chance to do so. For all that this site might once have been relevant, that was before ZAM and certainly before ZAM consolidated things on Wowhead. If you are serious about actually wanting Blizzard to listen, complaining here is like organizing an Occupy Wall Street event in Fargo, ND.

RAWDEAL is reminding me of a crazy hobo that prattles on about the end of days, but instead of the end of days, he spouts out the future of WoW. Or he goes on the o-boards and finds it from some colleague of his.

Blizzard is probably going to keep things tight under lock and key before they leak anything. Usually leaks of info come out after Blizzcon, usually anyways.
