WORLD OF WARCRAFT EXPANSION 4 DETAILS.
Hey gang its me again, back like last year to spoil the news from Blizzcon. No doubt you will b---h just like when i was 'talking !@#$, cataclysm would be too much rehash to be an expansion".
Well I'm back with the new info. So sit back read, rage and deal with it.

Mists of Pandaria is the name.

However the whole game is not set on the two large islands that compose the foundation of the nation of pandaria.

The expansion brings a far eastern fantasy flavor to the game.

The collector's edition pet will be a gold celestial dragon whelp mmo champion revealed this week. Its adult form can be seen in the MoP artwork form the visit to Blizzcon MMO-Champion article flying over Pandaren rice paddies.

The Pandaren are introduced as the reliquary and the explorers guild are taking the respite between the Horde and Alliance- as the earthen ring work to heal a broken Azeroth to map and explore the worlds as yet undiscovered corners.

They discover the Pandaren nation is in turmoil. Both from K'valdir from the south, Naga from the north and the death of the dragon emperor who has left Pandaria with no heir to the throne. There is a civil war between three groups. The brotherhood of the spear. The pandyr and the monks of the thousand stance fist for control of a now leaderless nation.

The naga want a high born relic that the Pandaren took from the Kaldorei when they departed Kalimdor for a new home. Something that has connections to the burning legion and the very entity that forged Frostmourne along with 6 other legendary blades. Two of which you know and have seen in game already... (the Ashbringer is NOT one of the seven swords, but it is in fact forged from a Naaru with connections to the titan's)

The Kvaldir want to destroy the Naga for the destruction of their island homes south of northrend. Their Queen may be an enemy- or ally to those who wish the naga thread be ended.

N'zoth not only pulls Azshara's strings but is waging a civil war for the world with Sum-Naz'ruur the 4th of the 5 old gods. Revealing that they may wish for the same goals. However they are not working together for such a goal.

There are new areas included other than Pandaria.
The island Nation of Kul Tiras led by the brother of Jaina Proudmoore. it broke off and drifted closer to the maelstrom and now is under siege from Naga and the same malign sorcery that effects the Isle of Tol Barad.
A new as of this post uncompleted zone above the Western Plaguelands adding leveling between Tirisfal glades and Eversong woods.
a return to undermine for the goblins to rescue the trade princes left behind. For a generously discounted fee, of course.
The land of Lost souls. A homage to films like king kong and the lost world. a third Titan zone like Un'Goro crater and Scholozar basin. However crates of scourged grain washed up many years ago and these dinosaurs are not exactly what you would call living anymore. Although they still would very much like to eat wandering adventurers.
Zul' Kikani is a new zone that appears to entering players as another troll zone. However these trolls took in the 'weakend' children of the vrykul as slaves shortly after the sundering. Those humans learn;t the voodoo and shamanic techniques of the trolls and subsequently overthrew them whilst retaining their savage, cannibalistic tendencies and they do not care for strangers...

New class is the monk. Will not be called a hero class as this is felt to be a failed experiment and they wish to make this feel more cohesive and welcome to the existing class player base than death knights which have been singled out as a hero class often seen as a 'welfare alt'.
tank/healer specialism in fist weapons and staves and melee combat. Uses cloth till 40 then leather.
has chakra a blend of energy and mana in terms of mechanics that can be restored using mana drinks like a caster nut also using specific 'chi strikes' in the manner of a warrior gaining rage.
specialty is getting in close to debilitate and debuff enemies whilst using the melee attacks to replenish the chakra. This is being tested in a fashion in 4.3 as a slightly similar focus across all healers will be to have more focus on mana replenishment during fights in MoP.
Taught by the monks of the thousand stance fists in a separate starting zone. The Tibetan style mountains of the Pandaren islet called Xing.
RACES AVAILABLE: orc, human, dwarf, night elf, worgen, tauren, ogre, troll.
Pandaren teach existing races to be monks, however Pandaren themselves are not playable.
the starting zone begins with you as a traveler seeking enlightenment. You leave the zone ready to defend peace and kepe balance in the world. Joining the alliance or horde based on your own moral choices. human monks may join the horde, tauren monks may join the alliance.

Sounds cool, but where did you get the quote from? Kinda hard to judge the validity of something otherwise.

Although I still think the new class should be a caster. A melee healer does sound awesome though.

Somehow i think letting ally classes become horde and horde ally does not sound plausible in my opinion.

After Cata fiasco, get ready to be blown away with the next expansion. They have to give us something HUGE to make us forget. Ogre, monks, Human horde... pile it up!

Another leak
http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/994810-Next-expansion-Leaks-announcements....-WHERE-ARE-THEY-O/page3

Quote:
Yep. Ogres are the only race that I have been told will be in the expansion so far. Monks are a tank/healing class that use 'Chi', a type of mana/focus resource, with a deathknight type layout system and will start out on a Pandaren island, probably called 'Xing', where there are towering bamboo trees, highly textured mountains, and Pandaren that teach you in the ways of the class. There's also a dungeon present on the island where you alone, or with a party, can venture and purge yourself of evil by actually fighting a mirror of yourself.

Monks in the end of their leveling zone will choose whether to side with the Horde, or the Alliance, regardless of race. (This is subject to change)

The new profession is also said to allow you, with enough time spent into it, learn a single other language, whether it be a faction only language. Though it is limited to 1.

Don't worry where I got this information, but just mark my words.

Mark them.

Reads like a fanfiction.

I'm calling bullsh*t. Major bullsh*t.

My first flag was the collector's edition pet bit. It's labeled as "ChromaticDragonPet," not Celestial Dragon or somesuch. Also, it's way too early for them to be working on something like that, much less for it to be in the game files.

A few things, in no particular order:

Quote:
Something that has connections to the burning legion and the very entity that forged Frostmourne along with 6 other legendary blades.

lolwut? This part just screams "asspull" to me, i.e., not real.

Revealing jack sh*t. We've already known that the Old Gods aren't one big happy family. Check out the dungeon journal entry for one of the Dragon Soul bosses, Warlord Zon'ozz. He's a lieutenant of N'Zoth, and it mentions him warring against the armies of C'Thun and Yogg-Saron.

Quote:

Absolutely not. Language is a defunct and almost useless point of the game at this point. I don't see Blizzard adding a way to learn a new one. Double bullsh*t if it involves learning the opposing faction's language. There are barriers for a reason, and Blizzard has never said anything about bringing them down or indicated they want to.

Because that's never been done in this game before.

lolno. This is complete and utter bullsh*t. I'll believe it when Boubouille posts it.

Also, people at MMO-Champ seem to be saying that the original posts came from /v/, 4chan's video game board. The nature of the board makes it impossible to find the thread now, so I can't prove it, but it's something to keep in mind.

Never mind the contradictions in gear. Cloth to Leather, so monks will be dependent on spellpower gear (or go without Agi from gear for 40 levels), but use fist weapons... that almost never have Int/SP.

Word of God has said that Pandaren are purely April Fools fodder as far as WoW is concerned.
They have said they would not allow cross-faction races.
They have said they want to refine the classes they have, and can't see where a new class would fit. Tank/healer? THAT wouldn't cause problems trying to get into raids while gearing up.

Not gonna happen. I'd put money on it if I trusted any of you buggers.

I'm unaware of the revelation or the artwork. There's nothing about the 'storyline' that seems unrealistic at least, however I'm not one who knows lore.

Not a terrible stretch. However if the below gear stuff is remotely true I'd see a hero class in the works as it'd require less of a rehash of old-world loot drops and such.

Astarin hit my opinion about the cloth/leather thing. It'd be hard to implement without redoing a lot of quest rewards and such. I could see a spellpower->AP obviously. However, ask an enhancement shaman how well that's worked for them lately.

Also, I'm not sure a class specializing in debuffs and mana replenishment would be my first guess. They seem to be going a different direction with healers lately anyway, and I don't know that we need another tank class.

Finally, I'm not sure I see ogre as being a sought-after race to play.

This would fit a lot of pre-conceived opinions floating around out there on boards and such.

As much fun as this would be, I don't know if I could see it happening. However they could probably use a 'gimmick' to help sell the expansion. This would fit that bill nicely.

Really I'd have to see the alluded to pre-cata thread to have a better idea on whether I'd consider it real or fake. My gut is that its just a fanboy making educated guesses. IIRC, we've had one of those types here before. Smiley: wink

Too much of a *********** to be real. Perhaps an early idea or random thought passed along at a development meeting some years ago, but not something they're going to launch.

In case I'm wrong, I reserve the right to laugh out loud at Blizzard's development team in a near future.

More than 1 did this guess, no smoke without fire, i'm buying it.

A lot of NPC's are neutral. Factions are things of the past.
Monk's are awesome.
Ogre's are VERY wanted by many, included me.
Nothing wrong to spice things up after all these years.

When Cataclysm was in the early stages of development, similar rumors circulated the internet. Very few of those rumors turned out to be true.

I know I'm quoting fantasy novels here, but still...

People want this stuff to be real, so when someone spreads something that barely looks official, they jump on it before they have time to use reason.

Why the hell do you think phishing emails still work?

It might have just been assumed by the author, but there's also no mention of a DPS role. It seems out of place to introduce a new class that can only tank and heal, when every other class has at least one damage spec.

If I were designing a monk class from scratch, I would have them just wearing leather armor with no type transition. In their healing spec, they would work similarly to Disc/Shadow Priests (or Chloro's from RIFT, if you're familiar). One stance would divide their damage among multiple targets, while the other would allow them to focus most of the healing on the tank. In general, I would give them several different ki strikes, and using certain combinations of 2-4 strikes opens up different finishers. The tank tree would have access to defensive finishers, the healing tree would have buffs and damage shields, and the DPS tree would have high-damage finishers.

You could have Ki bars that display like a mix between Paly HP and DK runes, the runes would light up with a different color depending on what element of finishers were used. If the last 3 strikes since you used a finisher were Fire, Holy, and Fire, your rune bar would be have a Red rune, then a White rune, then another Red rune.

Put it this way, Wow needs some changes and these changes makes senses. Hordes against Ally are dead and we are fighting something bigger. Yes we don't like each others but you will always have defections in any groups. That's where the Monks (neutral) come along.

The team is more than welcome to put in twists and turns. There is, however, a difference between that and fanfiction. Often times, it involves extreme changes to things, not letting events already in motion play their course. What you posted is the kind of extreme changes that a fanfic writer would do.

Now, if you are correct, and this stuff is an actual leak, I will gladly apologize and doff my hat to you. However, given what we know/think we know, everything about this just tells me that it's not real.

You claim that factions are dead, that it doesn't really matter any more. Then why was one of the stated goals of Cataclysm to revive the Alliance/Horde conflict?
