Some might. I know I would if I wasn't too paranoid about bad PuGs. Smiley: laugh

I hate the troll 5-mans.

I have never completed the quest lines in them. No one wants to do any of the optional bosses. There is entirely too much stuff that is skipped. Places like the troll 5-mans and Underbog (I think - correct me if i'm wrong) are annoying. People spend more time attempting to not fight adds - than actually just running up to them and tank/spank as normal.

Plus there are only two of them - you just repeat it over and over...

ZA - Boss tactics:

Eagle Guy - Do nothing special, some ranged will take care of that eagle thing, once in the fight you stand in a huge area under someone who's getting lifted up. Done.

Bear Guy - He charges people. Eat a charge, then move in. (Oh BTW - if he kills your DPS, you'll probably be fine anyway)

Hatchery Guy - I have no idea what the tactics are - As the tank - I just try to pick up a lot of birds and use DG to help the healer. I've done this probably 30+ times ~ for some reason people yell "LEFT" a lot.

Water Totem Guy - Don't let him stand in the Totem. Umm... There's a cat running around, but for some reason he doesn't seem to hurt anyone. Boss keeps resetting his health (Either a glitch or a stupid mechanic)

Guy with the adds - Don't worry - Every class has CC now - so this fight is retarded-stoopid easy. For some reason he keeps casting Consecrate and Blizzard didn't nerf HIS consecrate into meaninglessness. Someone should tell them that the signature Paly spell is still working so they can go and break it.

Last guy - Um - he seems to be a combination of all the other guys, but since you didn't have to think to fight them - you don't have to think here.

ZG - Boss tactics:

Poison guy - Don't stand in Poison. Wait - he moves away. Still don't stand in poison. When he dies, a DPS is required to quickly mount up and kill themselves by being the first person to the top of the hill (Where that stone rolling add is located). This is mandatory for all groups roughly 1/2 of the time - Especially if the DPS does great DPS. Their death proves that not only are they better at DPS, but their mount is faster too.

Guy that kills you and wastes food buffs - He kills people. Don't release. It's annoying. You have a 90% chance to get killed while he as <2% health. Since you were recently Rez'd - this will mean you have to wait about 30 seconds to accept the rez.

Bosses I've never done - Someone needs to have Arch as a skill. No one has it though, so never mind. (BTW - Tactics are likely to be this: F*** it, let the healer fix it + Some DPS will handle that mechanic + even if we lose 1/2 the group, it'll all work out in the end and I have one of those Mass Rez's anyway.

Cat Lady - Kill the cats first. Then nothing. Frankly the 4-pull at the bottom of the stairs PRIOR to this boss is harder because all DK must spread diseases and/or no one will CC anything. In fact - asking for CC should get you kicked.

Potion guy - This actually has tactics. Click the green thing. Other than that - F*** it, it's the healer's problem.

Last boss Guy - This actually has tactics too. Get the big guys to jump people... That's it...

Borsuk, that was the best reply ever and possibly the best description of the troll heroics I have ever read !

If the new heroic items end up being ilvl 378 like they're showing on MMO champ right now, I'll probably just run those for fill ins on slots I haven't gotten a 378 (hopefully that won't happen on my priest at least).

Once I'm done with that however, I'll probably just do a regular heroic and hope that I don't get a troll very often. I love that they integrated VP points for all heroics. Being forced to do two dungeons while farming VP is lame.

Seems like whenever I que for a troll dungeon, it's always on the last boss. Being a tank, I have a 3 minute fight, then reque, and get another half done troll run. I ran 3 in 20 minutes the other day :3

We won't be able to buy T13 items with VP?

That sucks and effectively means progression for non-raiders is dead. I'll get T12 on my characters and then what? Run more dungeons so I can convert my VP to JP and buy cloth with it? use the new LFR tool to gear up.

Yeah, I know, it's technically not much better for the "non-raiders", but it's essentially the next step up from H 5-mans. Think of it as the exact same as the LFD tool, just with 5 more people.

Except LFR, right now, is 25-man. So think of it as LFD with 20 more people. On the bright side, if it's tuned to 2 tanks, 7 healers, and 16 DPS, we'll be getting 8 DPS per tank per run instead of 3.

There was a blue a while back saying that, while they aren't 100% on how it will work, the plan now is that LFR won't lock you out of the regular raid. I'm thinking they're going to have LFR work just like LFD without the first run through locking you out of the raid, and maybe break the whole raid instance up like what they did with BRD.

New info on the Raid Finder here.

The raid will be broken into two wings with 4 bosses each, and each character is limited to getting loot from the first kill of that boss each week. Other than that, LFR runs will not have a lock-out.

Standard "Need Before Greed" loot rules.

Raid comp will be 2 tanks, 6 healers, and 17 DPS, and will attempt to have roughly equal amounts of plate, mail, leather, and cloth classes.

It looks like vote-kicks will have to be initiated by multiple players before it will even come up for a vote, but there's no mention of exactly how many votes will be required for it to pass.

No VP from the individual bosses, but 250 VP will be awarded for the final boss of each wing.

I don't currently run the normal heroics for quick VP, the level of fail on my server is about equal in each tier so I just go for the troll ones if I need points on my main (who does raid, but there's always offspec gear and alts to use points on).

I'm more worried about alts I'm trying to gear up, particularly for an offspec role. E.g. my paladin has 354 ilvl (probably slightly lower for dps gear) and I'm quite comfortable running troll heroics as dps, her healing gear however is 343 ilvl and whilst I will do some normal runs to practice healing before I try heroics I don't think they will prepare me for jumping straight into a troll heroic (whilst I realise this isn't far off ready I don't feel that my ability to heal on her will be good enough to make up the difference).

I think there should be some option to use the ilvl of your currently equipped gear when queuing, so that people who aren't geared to the same level in their offspec role can still queue for appropriate dungeons based on gear for that spec.

Raid finder sounds interesting (though potentially very painful), may be something I try out on alts as pugs on my server are pretty hit and miss (not to mention rare). Bit confused about the loot lock out, I get the idea (it makes no sense to give people multiple chances for raid loot in the same week), but I don't see why anyone would run it more than once a week anyway. Mains will hold out for guild runs (where the loot will be distributed more sensibly) and have no incentive to LFR later in the week (I guess unless maybe their guild doesn't clear it and the pug will). Alts would surely only run once (for the option of loot) although I guess this does mean they won't be locked out if they are needed for a guild run later in the week.

From Blizzard's perspective, the loot rules are set up so that, if your first LFR group falls apart after the first or second boss, you can try and get into another LFR group, re-kill the first few bosses (unless you get lucky and get a group 1/2 way through), and still get loot from the end. Also, people joining a run already in progress wouldn't immediately bail to avoid being saved and missing loot from an earlier boss.

Just using currently equipped gear would be ideal for LFD, but in the absence of that, you can always queue for specific instances.

I'm interested to see what iLevel the 5-mans will have, compared to the LFR version of Dragon's Soul and the normal/heroic version.
