Hey guys, I was looking around the Zam Forums for a WoW Guild recruitment section, and I didn't see one in the forum browser. If this is against forum etiquette, feel free to (if you're a mod) delete this thread. I'm not interested in causing any trouble, or getting myself flamed to oblivion.

---

Moving on, many of you have perhaps heard of the Together to the Top (TTTT) movement on Youtube, started by Athene. If you haven't that's ok, I can give a quick run down, or give you specifics in pms or responses. It's pretty much an attempt to make a collective gaming community on Youtube, that more actively supports one another, watching/favoriting/liking/commenting on other gaming channel's videos. Gaming channels on Youtube often do not get the recognition they deserve, and Athene has set out to change that in the past weeks/months.

You might be wondering: "Well how does this concerning me, or World of Warcraft?" Well here's the deal: Out of this movement on Youtube has sprung up one of the most amazing communities I've ever seen. I've seen Youtube channels blow up from 20subscribers to having thousands in a matter of weeks, because of how supportive and caring the community has now become. It's really inspiring to see people band together like this; and seeing this for a prolonged amount of time has made me think: "What if I could take this community, and transfer it from Youtube, to in game? In World of Warcraft?"

Thus the start of the <Together to the Tôp> guild, on Darkspear US - Alliance. I created this guild this last Monday, and it's been going well so far. We need more members though! I believe the roster is sitting between 40-50 members so far, but at certain times of the day/night only 3-5 members will be seen online, and I'm looking to make a community in game where someone can always log on and just have fun.

I don't want to type a book here, and discourage anyone from reading; so I'll go ahead and wrap this post up. If you like the idea or the concept behind the guild, please don't hesitate to contact me here on Zam, or on Youtube, or even in game. We'd love to have you in the guild, and there's room for everyone right now.

Thanks for the time,

---

Not really. Where you need to go is the realm forums or the guild recruitment forums on the Official website.

Ugh...sorry man. I double checked the forum rules, but not the FAQ. I should've just done a quick search on that as well to be safe.

To be honest though, I'm already on my realm forums and the WoW guild recruitment. I'm just trying to do everything I can to help get this guild rolling, and get more members for my guild so they're all happy and have more people to play with.

At the end of the day I had to try anyway, just to say I've done all I can try to do. =/

It's not the end of the world to post a guild recruitment thread, it just doesn't generally accomplish much on this forum, which is why it's not against the rules, just not recommended.

I see, that makes a lot of sense, thanks. I'll just let it ride out and see how the community takes it then. Thanks a lot for the comment.

You didn't specify Horde or Alliance.

I've been looking for a place to raise some hordies as my main (Ally) server is full - 8 85's now with a druid in the 70s and mage in 50's - so not much more to level there. I've started little batches of horde toons on probably 7 or 8 different servers now but haven't really latched on anywhere.

Also, I have no idea what the TTTT thing is or the person you mentioned (I don't youtube hardly ever) so what is the difference between this guild and any other? Guess I'm missing something.

This brings up a good point, why haven't we created a Zam Superguild yet.

On topic: Thanks for the offer Ill keep it in mind with RAF if i can find someone to do it with me, but ive leveled to many toons to want to do it slow again, I keep getting stuck at 60 or 70.

Edited the post, sorry about that. We're on Darkspear US Alliance side, for anyone who was curious of the same thing. It's Swifty's and now Athene's server, and those two are at the head of the Together to the Top movement, and play Alliance there, so it makes sense for us to be there. I mention that extensively in the two videos, and I forgot I didn't have it in the actual post, thanks. ;)

What sets this guild apart from any other is it's community driven. Which is why I was so inspired by the community driven TTTT movement on youtube. This guild isn't raid driven/loot driven/progression driven/ even PvP driven. It's all about playing the game with people you care about, and having fun. Is that to say we're not going to raid or PvP? Of course not, those are big things to do in the game that a lot of people enjoy, but they key point is I'm trying to create an environment where people can log on to the game and be having fun, no matter what they're doing.

I touch on this a little in the videos, but I've seen far too many guilds where the members just log on for raid, and log off afterward until the next raid time. Or log on for 10 arena games, and log off. If that's how people enjoy the game, that's fine; but I want to give people a place where they can have fun outside of their primary activities that only happen 'x' or 'y' times a week for a limited period of time.

Then there's also the Youtube elements. I myself am going to be putting out videos extensively, and many of the other guild members want to get channels started on Youtube, featuring their gameplay and other things. I'm going to try and start a huge collaboration of channels where people can get exposure for their videos; so those people who genuinely enjoy making videos can have fun doing so and having people watch them.

Hopefully that clears some things up, and thanks for pointing out about the lack of faction specification. ;)

Aposematic was a ZAM guild for the EU servers for a while. Other than that, I think most people are content with the guild they're already in.

^ This.

Also, based on Swifty and Athene's reputations... that's no incentive for me either.

It used to have (/has?) me as guildleader which makes it the most awesome guild ever.

It also has/had Mazra, Kali, Delinja, Falcy, Ducky and Bever. Oh and Smulen. Basically the whole guild was made of ******* awesome.

Could you imagine sharing a guild with Bodi, Mental, AND Theo? 0.o

That actually sounds fun.

I'm a lot different in the forums than in game. I've played MMOs with quite a few of the asylum regulars a ways back. Fun times. But Zam guilds don't work, doomed to drama.

There have been several Zam guilds on the US servers.

Pancake Bunnies - I think they were all about lowbie PvP or something back in TBC or vanilla
Untouchable Sage - the old OOT guild, I'm pretty sure that was its name
The Fifth Star(Anetheron) - I wanna say Tyrandor was the guild leader at creation. It's still around, but I don't think it's a Zam guild anymore.
And I think the Asylumites had a guild or two back in the day. I believe there was major drama.

I get rating bombed for talking about a guild other than a ZAM guild, get hijacked by the same people talking about a ZAM guild, and none of you realize, (or even remember) the first ZAM WoW guild there ever was. Ironic, to say the least. None of you were even around at that point, lol.

<Kharma Trolls> Anybody? Illidan US? Started up with the release of the game. It worked well for a while, it was actually a pretty cool community. The only reason the guild flopped is there wasn't enough leadership/people to do the current endgame (40mans, back then...) and a lot of people who wanted that moved on in to bigger guilds.

I've had to switch accounts since then, but all the same.

Ahhh the good old times. Back when ZAM was a little more than a high-school esque clique of friends. ;)

Don't get me wrong, you guys do have some good posters here still, and I'm not talking down on everyone. It is disheartening to see my post (made with good intentions) stand at 'Excellent' then get hijacked and go to Default on every post in a matter of hours though. Doesn't say much for this community. =/

You probably got "rating bombed" because you advertised for a guild here, period. I got "rating bombed" when I advertised Aposematic back in the day.

And I was around when Kharma Trolls was started. I just didn't bring it up since it was primarily an Asylum guild and I didn't play in it.

Also, we don't hijack threads to be mean. If you'd been here long enough (now that's irony), you'd know this. Instead you come in here, advertise some crap and start getting all pissy despite no one saying a single bad word to you.

What the @#%^, man? What the @#%^?

Edit: Yes, the aggression is exaggerated for effect. I'm really rather apathetic when it comes to this. I don't recall your post being excellent at any point. You were Scholar when you came in here, which would put your posts at a decent or good rating by default. You got rated up once and down once or twice, so what's the issue?

Oh, and if you don't mean to be generalizing, you probably shouldn't generalize...

There, I fixed your rating. But the next time you decide to "ride it out" and "see how the community takes it", do everyone a favor and don't get all worked up about it.

Hey Fahros, could you take that stick out of your ***? Your butthurt is kind of annoying and we're talking about guilds here. Possibly a guild involving Theo, Mental and Bodhi which would be pretty ******* cool.

You posted on a general community forum...and are now upset that we're talking about something other than your guild specifically? You put it here. You open it up to any discussion. You do not own exclusive rights to the topic in question.

To be honest your attitude is really making a bad impression of your guild. You should be happy that we've been bumping your thread to the top.
