Why so much hate for BC gear? From what I've seen, I really like it. In fact, most of the mogging gear I have lined up is from BC or is a recolor of vanilla tier.

Maybe because Paladins went from this to this.

Don't understand why everybody seems to fancy this set (T2) in particular. It's a freaking robe, and other than the shoulders, everything else looks like cloth. Add to that a color scheme that only a male belf could truly enjoy...

I can imagine myself wearing a whole lot of things, but I sure as hell don't want my pally or any other plate class to look like a mage.

Yeah I don't really get the obsession with the judgment set either. I think it looks like cloth too, which makes me really irritated that I can't mog my gear to look like the BC dungeon recolor. Purple judgment looks so pretty!

Tirisfal is tied with that, IMO.

But mostly what you said.

The cloth covers the plate underneath, obviously. Forging a metal robe is kinda hard, even for the great smiths of Stormwind and Ironforge.

A Paladin is a clergy, a man of the cloth, a "Warrior Priest," and I find that the Judgement set reflects that a lot more than any other Paladin tier gear in the game. You have to see the armor as layers upon layers, not as a single entity. Note the chains

You can blame Blizzard and the game's low polygon count for making it look like a Mage's robe. And perhaps blame the design team for making a plate armor set that looks somewhat realistic in terms of weight and placement of plate pieces. Do you have any idea how hard it would be to move around in armor like this?

In this case, the plate would still be worn as the outer layer, with padded cloth underneath. Never would it be a robe, though, because it makes it very much impossible to ride a horse. So much for "realism".

The design team... Sometimes I wonder if they're receiving part of their salary in hallucinogens. "Wild Mushrooms" anyone?

The reason you wear the "robe" (it's not a robe, stop calling it that) on the outside is so people can see it. In the old days, armor didn't come in all the colors of the rainbow. You can't mine purple and magenta iron ore, just the regular ol' gray stuff. The cloth was there to make it pretty and to hold any symbols you might want to show off, like a cross or a crest of some kind.

Like I said before, it's not a robe, it's layers upon layers. It looks like a robe because the game engine is eight years old or more and Blizzard's way of preventing the average player's computer from blowing up in their face was to use a robe model for the design.

Obviously a Paladin would not be wearing a robe as, like you said, it would impair his ability to ride his trusty steed into battle.

Think this.

BC is a mixed bag for me. Some of it I love, some of it needs less rainbow. These shoulders were awesome. This axe was, um well.... yeah...

The scarf is important.

Tom Baker Doctor was the first one I really 'got to know'. Always loved the scarf. Heh

Judgement armor - I like the set but I don't think it was the greatest tier set. My Pally has the purple recolor which I think is even better. I only wish I'd gotten around to upgrading his Lightforge to Soulforge which is another really great set. I think my main 'issue' with the Judgement is that it has one of the few helms that hide my Blood Elf's ears which makes him look odd to me (I've gotten used to the wiggly ears).

I'm not sure what my favorite tier set is though my Shaman's Tier 6 is probably one of my favorites. I also like the Shaman Tier 7 and almost wish I had the blue Naxx 10 set instead of the red Naxx 25 set (maybe go back and recolect the blue someday after I have space.) I also really love Dragonstalker in both the original colors and the recolor. I also think most Warlock sets are just awesome and wish I had a Warlock leveled up to collect them but my highest Lock is 50-something and is also a female Goblin so armor tends to look a bit squished on her. :/ There are also some pretty sweet Priest and Mage sets around and of course I have very few high level clothies.

Rouge sneaked its way in (c wut i did thar?)

The rogue basically stole Batman's helmet and the priest's giant collar from the last tier.

Personally I liked a lot of the BC armor but it's easy to see why many people didn't.

Even NPCs think BC armor looks weird.

Anyway... The rogue set is kind of neat, though once again they seem to have forgotten that wearing big bulky armor with bright glowing bits is generally detrimental to being stealthy.

Rogue set sucks. Looks like a Marvel hero rather than a sneaky, backstabbing SOB.

At least this time the crappy look can be transmogrified away.

I like the look of the rogue set. It looks like something a person could wear and still be effective at sneaking. Minus the fire breathing shoulders...but that's besides the point.Smiley: tongue

I swear, if the Priest gear looks like the Joker I will stay subscribed until the day the servers shut down.

Rogue looks like AzBats. Commonly known as the 90siest Batman.

The kids of today should defend themselves from the 90s.
