I gotta say I have played GW 1 and it was great, but GW 2 looks amazing especially the PVP that you can plan out your tactics, etc...

Anyway but overall they are kind of 2 different game though... unless GW 2 change their system and allow a part of 20 - 30 for raids etc.. :D

GW2 seems like a cool game. It will probably have its niche players. I will probably try it.
There's almost no chance that any MMO will ever achieve what WoW did. It's not only a game. It became a social mark. And accepted. Several things helped WoW achieve that and I strongly disbelieve it will be possible to do that again.

You can say WoW is much like IPhone/IPad in terms of social acceptance.

Mario is socially acceptable? Smiley: grin

I agree about WoW being not only a game. I was just saying something similar on my guild forum. Right after my husband played the Tunak Tunak Tun video and it made me resub. WoW is actually part of our family's own personal pop culture in such a way that even when we're not playing, it's sort of... there.

It's nefarious, this WoW. Also I need therapy.

Also I will definitely try GW2. I didn't play the original but I think it looks neat.

I edited to make a better point. But Mario is, actually, socially acceptable and a social mark. But it only got that status afterwards, hence why I edited.

Exactly my point.
I could go further and analyze the time WoW was launched and the time that being a gamer started to be socially accepted and how WoW helped develop that while, at the same time, used that to leverage itself.
But I will not because Im lazy.
