Ive decided im going to buy WoW but my parents dont really like purchasing things online so i was going to buy a card, the website only has directions on how to use it by making a new account or editing payment options, i dont want to make a new acount because i have characters i like on the one i have, but i dont have any payment options since i haven't bought it yet. how do i do this or can i not use a card?If i end up having to buy a disk, then how do i know if it comes with the burning crusade or not, and what is the payment plan on the diks? can i change it to pay every 3 months?

You have to pay for a copy of the game to upgrade from the trial to a full account. You can pay for a download from Blizzard or go to the store and buy a copy of the game if your parents won't let you buy it online. Once you enter the CD-key (or whatever they call it when you buy digitally) your account will be upgraded and you will see the available payment options. You get 30 days free for buying the game and you can certainly use prepaid game cards to add more time. You can pay monthly or every 3/6/12 months I believe. When I was using them, the prepaid cards were good for 60 days of game time. And if I'm not mistaken, all copies of World of Warcraft also include The Burning Crusade now.

I've never seen getting the 30 free days that you mention here, as for the multi month payment options, I have seen 3 and 6, but nothing past that...
If you never got the initial 30 days free when you purchased WoW initially, you must be special because everyone gets it. And yes, you can pay monthly or choose a 3 or 6 month subscription. Not sure why I thought you could pay for a year up front.

Just to put my 2 cents in. As Telleria said, You automatically get the 30 days free for buying WoW. The boxes at Stores say it on front of the box, the digital download doesnt say it but it still pertains to all new copies of the game.

Check your transaction log on battle.net. It will show you that you received a free month when you purchased wow.

If you buy it in a store, you want to look for the World of Warcraft Battle Chest. Believe it or not, there are actually some copies of the original and BC expansion floating around. You probably won't run into them, but you never know. You will eventually have to purchase Wrath of the Lich King and Cataclysm if you want to progress past level 70, or create a Death Knight character, or a Worgen or Goblin.

Actually its 19.99 at Walmart now, they even have a big sign that says Battlechest only 19.99 now. I still think its BS Wrath is 39.99. They should drop it to 19.99.
You can download wow without paying for it too, what you then can't do is play, until you have an active account by paying for your license key for the games you want and time-cards to activate time...

I believe they have changed a few things now... well... at least in EU WoW they have (so I assume it applies to US as well).
Instead of a trial account, you can get World of Warcraft Starter Edition. This allows you to level up to 20, and as far as I understand, it doesn't expire. Of course, however, to get past level 20 and use certain features that would be disabled, you'd need to buy an account and pay a subscription.

They changed a few things about the trial (including the name), but you still have to do the same thing to get the full version of the game. And I think the OP said something about (his/her parents) being leery of on-line payments and purchases.

The OP also mentioned already having an account, so he's already got the starter edition I assumed and wants to purchase the full game, which is why he received the advice he did.
