His character was named conservatism, and was on the silvermoon realm.

Do you have an article stating this or is it just word-of-mouth? If it is true, yeah I could see them trying to blame WoW. People need scape goats and are willing to point fingers at things they don't understand.

I'm going to sum up the entirety of the thread that will follow: People are idiots, and will blame various things for anything. Look at the whole "D&D is a satanic cult" thing, or heck, even Jacko the Wacko. Though he hasn't really done anything since he got disbarred, that I've heard of.
One of these days I'm going to snap. And I'm going to blame the latest gaming fad.
All this proves is that even criminals play video games.
Besides, World of Warcraft has around 11 or 12 million subscribers; it's nothing more than a coincidence that he is, or may be, one of them.

I'm more inclined to blame his radical religious beliefs, personally, since he called the attack a protest against Islamic immigration to his country because he didn't believe in multiculturalism.

Norway doesnt have the death penalty. It was abolished? after the war.
It is possible to get a stronger sentence. Not in prison but in a locked mental institution.
This means that they are sentenced to treatment and lockup. This can be prolonged as long as they feel that the person, is not sane enough to get out. So this is in essence a life sentence.

Wait, twenty-one years combined or twenty-years for each crime committed? I assume it's the latter, but the way that article was worded makes it seem like the former.

Its 21 years combined. We dont have any multiple sentences here.
But they can't try him for each murder separately?

I hope your prison psychiatrists are better than ours. Some of the bottom feeders working in US prison mental hospitals are just likely enough to declare him sane and let him go.
There is a place in the world for mob vengeance and lynching - although no penalty limited to a single death could ever be adequate recompense for crimes of such a horrific and calculating nature. And I don'r buy insanity either. the degree of organization involved in his actions argues that he could not possibly be insane in any incapacitating way.

Psychopathy is a mental disorder, but you have the ability to appear normal, even though you can't form human connections, and don't feel empathy for your fellow man. It's entirely possible he's a psychopath, so he's not incapacitated by a disorder, and lets face it, you'd have to be fairly emotionless to murder 90+ people.
Edit: I might mean Sociopath, I just can't ever remember the difference.

Funny part is I remember reading actual parent responses like that towards video games. Heck if memory serves correctly it was a link someone gave. Was hilarious to read.
