Nerd status should really only be revoked for some lack of knowledge, since that just requires proactive interaction in certain topics. Liking/disliking something, though, is subjective. Someone can be a nerd, say, certain video games or movies. I'm just not that captivated by Pokemon really.
Thank you! I mean really. I'm a Harry Potter fan, I watch anime, I play RPG's and WoW, I'm an avid reader, I got made fun of constantly in middle school and quite a bit in high school too, I like Star Wars and Star Trek, etc.
Just because I have no interest in Pokemon and never have, doesn't mean I don't get to be a nerd. And so what if I didn't know the name of one of the monsters from Mario? In the second Mario game Peach threw turnips and could float with her dress, and Luigi could run fast and jump really high. In the third one, you could turn yourself into a frog, a raccoon and various other creatures, as well as light yourself on fire and throw fireballs. It's not like I never played the games, I just didn't get to play them much since I never had an NES growing up. I wanted one, but my parents wouldn't let me have one because they were afraid my grades would suffer.
And I apologize if I came off ****** last night. I was in a bit of a cranky mood. >.>
