Tanking for MormonsFollow

In the spirit of the other "tanking tips" thread on the main page, I figured I would make a thread that had useful information in it, in case any of our forum-goers are new to tanking and are afraid to ask questions.

Suggestions for quick and easy heroic tanking
  • Kill the one in the dress. Tell your party that exact phrase: "Kill the one in the dress." Also, if you can, mark a Skull on the one in the dress. It works wonders.
  • If there is more than one mob wearing a dress, consider asking your mage or shaman to turn one of them into a tasty (and harmless) animal so that you can kill them both in a leisurely fashion.
  • Seriously, kill the one in the fricking dress. It's [healing the other mobs/casting AoE spells/CCing your party].
  • Always face all mobs you're tanking away from your party, unless the mobs give you a compelling reason not to.
  • Don't turn your back to mobs. Pretend you're in prison, and they want to get "friendly" with you if that's what it takes for you to remember, but don't turn your back to mobs.
  • If you die, always ask yourself what you could have done ("Could I have used a CD? Did I pull too many mobs? Should we have used CC?") before blaming the healer.
  • Dyin's for fools.

  • If anyone has any additional useful suggestions, have at. Just having a little fun here. :)

How does that relate to Jesus' trip to the United States?

Well, when your family is large enough that you need a raid group to get together...

Newsweek recently declared it the Mormon moment, and the new "Book of Mormon" play is a hit. I figure there's going to be an upswing in the number of Mormons, thus an upswing in the number of new tanks who are Mormons. And I want to welcome my new Mormon tanking brethren (the brotherhood of tanking, not of Mormons).

    Also, I liked the title.

The guy in your group with the '+' sign is the only reason you're still alive. He may be an inebriated moron, but that doesn't mean you can finish the dungeon without him. Maybe the good tanks can, but that doesn't include you, sorry.

Actually those are some nice tips, thank you. I hadn't really thought about priority for mobs dying, but killing casters definitely makes sense. I also have a tendency to forget to pull the mobs so that their back is to the party. =x

Yeah, I got tired of insulting "l2tank noob" posts on the o-forums and now Alla.

I figured if nothing else, I could actually offer useful, if simple, advice, in the hopes that others would do the same. What can I say, I'm an optimist. :)

I haven't really noticed any "l2tank nub" comments here. We give russtle **** because he complains about things that everyone complains about, but he manages to do so in an annoying way. Plus he has a tendency to say stupid things, which is why Theo made that glorious picture. That was a result of russtle saying that Theo was probably a middle aged old man who was fat and balding and living in his mom's basement or something.

I'm still trying to figure out if I'm missing some witty joke besides their being few one letter difference between morons and mormons. Or is that it? If so I'm lodging a complaint with my congressman on the quality of jokes on online forums these days. He doesn't need a proper birth certificate so we're all good.

If you're looking for a joke, it's really just a whim on my part to make the change. I didn't feel like titling it "morons," and was reading about Mitt and his chances in the Republican debate tonight when I wrote it. That's about it, and no it's not particularly witty. :)

Why not? Kirk got it on with every other woman in the universe.
