My thoughts on Cata so farFollow

Hello friends, some of you used to know me, and a lot more of you used to dislike me. I quit playing WoW for sometime to focus on other things, but after finals I picked up Cataclysm and I have been playing for a little while now. I have 2 85s and various level 81-83s. This is just a short one sided opinion of cataclysm take it for what this thread is.

Stormwind is beautiful! I tinkered around with all my classes first from level 80 and I must admit and give props to blizzard for making just about every class and spec viable and fun. I was surprised to see that leveling was fun and new but the magic died out around level 25. (I laughed so hard in deadmines.) However, I think that is the challenge of any game designer on how to make sure each experience is fun and new and not a boring grind.

Upon entering my first dungeon on my hunter, I was thrilled when the tank asked me to CC a naga. Upon entering and tanking a dungeon around 82 on my paladin, I was extremely agitated at people's innate ability to be unable to comprehend the simplest requests, and not be able to comprehend the mechanics of a fight after experiencing it.

It is important to note that this expansion I transitioned from a hardcore player to a very casual player. With that being said upon dinging 85 I found out heroics are hard, heroics are REALLY hard. So hard in fact I have not been able to do a single one yet. On the same note, Tol'Borad is pretty fun, I like the new daily zone which leads to my next thought.

All the mastery changes, and new skill has added a new and exciting dimension to WoW for me. So exciting in fact that I leveled my hunter from 83-85 in pvp and I did all of 84 in random battlegrounds on my paladin. I feel as though I am playing on a trial account unfortunately. Being a casual player its very hard to push out the time needed to obtain the minimum gear to experience many of the features of cataclysm that I am paying for. One of the best and coolest features is having the ability to do all of you daily randoms on one day, because where I am at I am not always able to play everyday.

The Battle for Gilneas BG scares me, everyone runs in circles in giant balls of death, it seems really small. Haven't tried new warsong. Guild interface is overhauled and guild leveling is superb. Its nice to actually get a benefit from joining a guild, it would be nice to see some more work go into the guild recruitment panel. I have not been able to do arenas yet because they are so glitchy and I am waiting for a GM to disband my current bugged team from Wrath.

All in all I like it. Cataclysm isn't the greatest thing I have ever played, but it will hold my attention until something better hits the markets. I see it as a stall though, and also cataclysm seems like its laying the ground works for something greater. I do not want to get deeply involved in this expansion just to experience the content. My final thought is my level 20 hunter does not need explosive shot yet, people just don't have enough hp on the for reals. Thank-you friends for reading if you did.
