Me again, the person that the more addons I play with, the more confused I get.
I accidentally deleted my PitBull4 today, and, well, when I loaded up the game the bars were completely screwed. I spent 15 minutes trying to figure out how to set it back up the way I had it (which felt shakey in the first place). At this point I decided that it's time for a new Unit Frame addon.
Here's what I need:
Simple, hippie friendly.
Descriptive, I just need it to show health, power, and debuffs on friendly raid and party bars. Cast bars would be nice, but I only throw them on when I'm sober, because they confuse me otherwise.
There we go.
Do any of you have any suggestions as to a Unit Frame addon that's all that? I dug through a few of them, but they're oh so confusing or vague in their descriptions.

The new in-game 5-man frames aren't good enough?

I mean, I'd happily set you up with something fancy, but you mentioned simple and the in-game thing is just about as simple as they come. Smiley: tongue

I'd recommend Xperl for the easier-to-use.

If you know what the hell you're doing, I'd go with Pitbull.

I used Shadowed Unit Frames. You can set them up just like Pitbull, but it's easier and there's only two folders that compose the add on instead of five bajillion like Pitbull has. Makes disabling and enabling them a lot easier.

I'm down to using the stock UFs. I just couldn't get any of the others to work how I wanted them to. I'm also just using the stock bars as bartender was just getting in the way.

Movable bars you can set to auto-hide were getting in the way?

Pigtails, I tried out Shadowed and it seems to be exactly what I want. The art of the Blizzard ones is just terrible IMO, which is why they weren't an option. Thanks!

Np Jay. I had the same thought as you did about bartender getting in the way. =x

I know, weird. I just could never get it how I wanted it. I've messed around with it for hours and I always go back to the default.

I actually got my ui to just about where I want it. Still tweaking, I have skinner on in the bottom 25%, but I will probably get rid of it as I don't really need it.

Anyone know if you can make the bars invisible unless you are targeting? Do any of the addons have that capability.

Action bars? I'm sure there are. With bartender you can have them set to fade out when not in combat. My unit frames are set to fade out when not in combat and they come back when I enter combat or target something.

Yeah, I had them set up to fade ooc, but I couldn't figure out how to do them to show up when targeting. I will check again...the one thing I don't like about the default bars is that I want one bar as 4 rows of three for my naga buttons. I think I can make it work as I am really happy with everything else in my ui now.

Here we go, I found the custom conditional you can use.

Custom Conditional to fade out when not in combat and show when targeting

NEVER. EVER. USE. XPERL.

EVER.

Also, Pitbull4.

Yeah, honestly X-perl doesn't look much better than the stock UI to me. It's prettier graphically, but it's just as cluttered.
#17REDACTED, Posted: May 19 2011 at 10:01 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) PitBull is pretty wack nowadays.
