What do you think?Follow

Have you tried the official WoW Remote app? What do you think about it?

From today and onward, you need to pay 2.99 USD or Euro to be able to chat with people or buy/create auctions via the WoW Remote. Is it worth it? Or do you think there would need to be extra features, like access to crafting, reforging, trading, etc..?

Also, how do you think mobile access to WoW will affect the game? Are people going to be logged in more?

The remote app is worth it if you're heavily in to auctioning. Otherwise it is a waste imo.

I will take some of that shephers's pie also.

Just how much alike is the OP with the banned survey down the way?

You should try making it with a mix of mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, parsnips, carrots and butternut squash instead of the regular mashed taters. It's tasty.

Are there really people who (like I need to ask this, but I will anyway) absolutely cannot get more than a few feet from WoW without going into withdrawal and MUST have an "app" to keep in touch with it at a distance?

intriguing idea... not the survey one, the sweet 'taters, etc... one

I actually like to use mixed veggies instead of the more traditional creamed corn between the meat and potatoes (I believe I've read that in some places they don't use creamed corn? here it's standard).

Oh, and I've changed my mind on the gardening.
Gardening sucks... like that movie.

Yeah, I'm in the UK and I wouldn't expect to see any corn in there. Maybe some carrots or something in with the meat.

Consider playing with the seasoning. When I made it last, I seasoned it with onion powder, garlic, chili powder, dried parsley, salt and black pepper as well as adding a generous dash of cheddar cheese. That was tasty, but I know I could have found an even better one.

Definitely!
I've added cheese to the potato mix - normally some fresh-grated parmigiano. Pungent, but nice.

Have you tried one of those great smoked paprikas instead of the chili?

Shepherd's Pie has a terrible reputation here. It's considered "poor peoples' food". There's a sort of running gag from a very VERY silly comedy show about "meat, corn, potatoes, meat, corn, potatoes" (actually, seeing it written, it's even LESS funny! basically this silly woman keeps getting the order of the layers confused, and that line gets repeated ad nauseam). And so it's instant mashed potatoes, cheap ground beef, and canned creamed corn. I particularly dislike the creamed corn... ugh.

I have not. Definitely worth a try.

Oh, and I forgot to mention butter. The butter is important.

To return to the OP, yes, I wholeheartedly agree. The butter is VERY important. Else the potatoes don't get that lovely colour and crust.

which is true, whereas
'I am, therefore I think'
has been proven wrong times and again, even in WoW

Not gonna waste my money on such a gimmick. I spend enough time WoWing already w/o taking it with me.

The Remote App was nice when it was free. I have the armory app since that is free but I rarely used it. The guild chat feature was nice. I could sign on and chat with some of my guildies but not actually have to be on wow. It also helped to know when I had to sign on for raids because I knew how many people were on already.

While it's nice, it's not worth an extra $3 a month to use. The guild chat feature should just be part of the armory app. The AH feature I can see being worthy of selling as it probably uses a bit more resources to do.

Just so y'all know, traditional Sheppard's Pie does NOT have corn in it in ANY form whatsoever.
The reason? Corn didn't exist in Europe until they found it in America.

actually, just to clear up any misunderstanding:

for me, "shepherd's pie" is nothing more than the English translation of a traditional French Canadian dish called "pâté chinois", which has always contained corn. It was a version of "cottage pie", and was served to Chinese rail workers in the 19th century in Canada.

"traditional Shepherd's Pie" also does not contain beef. It is made from mutton. Shepherds, after all, herd... sheep.
:P

Hmmm, didn't even notice the mention of beef. I tend to use Lamb or Bison in place of beef for most recipes, because they're just better, so, yeah, assumption.

I think 'Sheppard's Pie' with corn is considered a Cowboy's pie traditionally.

A nice warm freshly cook Shepherd's Pie with a thin layer of gravy on top, served by it's self or with some steamed veggies = Excellent winter warmer.

On topic: I liked the guild chat app when it was free since it was the only way to contact my cousin, but now that you have to pay for it I'm not gonna bother getting it since I still see him every so often.

Is creamed corn some kind of viscous corn gloop? That would be detestable, I imagine.

It has no cream in it...unless you make it yourself, but even that would be a waste of cream.

Creamed corn = Fish bait.
Actually, corn = fish bait in general, but creamed corn is all gooey and nasty, so trout just LOVE it.

Creamed corn can be good if done right, but I agree that it's generally not worth it, as it's better to just have the corn with butter and whip the cream for pie. Um, regular pie, not shepherd's. But shepherd's pie, also delicious.

Whole corn pie...weird

Corn in starch-form is in most cream pies (coconut, banana, etc.)

Not really. Shepherds pie is just a misnomer, applied to cottage pie.

Shepherds pie was the derail, but I'm willing to discuss cereal.

Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Fruity Pebbles.
