I'm not sure this is a WoW specific topic, but most people post here... So...

My name is Blue and in what appears to be BOLD type.

Teacake is Red and bold.

Some people who post a lot (and many of whom I think know as much if not more than me...) (xNocturnalsunX, Poldaran, PigtailsOfDoom) Are Green. (Specifically Pold knows way more about mage'ing - and has more posts than me - Roughly 20 times more than my 1400ish)

So from a WoW stand point - I'd assume the Red (Sorta Legendary) the Blue (Sorta Rare) and the Green (Sorta above average) would be the rating system - but that can't be right.... So how does Alla function?

But why do some names appear to be reg. text while others are BOLD?
Why are posters like Pigtails green?
What is the ranking system?

Also - my apologies if this is easily found on some "Help" page - I haven't been able to find it and have been wondering for months.

Beyond how the karma systems works, you're right in noting that some posters do not show Guru status, even though they are more active in the community and their postings can be more informative than someone (like myself) who has very few posts but does show Guru. Part of this may simply be due to the large number of posts they make in various forums, that might not be frequented as often by others who would rate them up. Compared to those with few postings who might only post in the frequently read discussions, and might be more likely to be rated up.

Once your karma is high enough, then your posts can default to a score of Excellent and this just reinforces your karma rating if no one down rates them. So, even though someones karma is green or blue or lower but have a high post count, then more than likely they are still a more valuable contributor than someone like myself.

Ahhh..

Blue (me)

Green (Those I mentioned that actually should be above me)

Red

Admin/Maroon

Ok - Cool. Good to know. I guess it's not based on the WoW colors... TY

Red means you've been brown-nosing someone.

Blue means you're cool and full of win.

That is all you need to know.

Because I'm awesome.

Or according to some people, because I have boobs. Honestly I have no idea.

And sadly, that high post count means I'll likely never hit Guru(short of paying off an admin).

Yeah. The more posts you have the harder it is to move the average. If you're not guru in your first few hundred posts you're probably never getting it.

Pretty sure I was at least 1k in before I got red colors.

I also like to drink and make shit up so don't quote me on that.

Everyone go and rate up 15,000 of Maz's post to make him green.

Green is just a yellow shade of blue.

Yeah, I'm thinking I was at least 1k too before mine turned red. It's really hard to remember though.

I didn't know that some people's posts (other than the admins) default as excellent though. I always assumed that any post I saw that was rated excellent had been rated up by someone.

You could say it's a blue shade of yellow. Then we would technically be below you!

I get a laugh out of it. Especially when I'm spewing out something that is far from excellent.

Heheh - and that's the kind of thing that made me wonder what was up. I couldn't figure why someone would rate up a comment that wasn't overly helpful or informative (or humorous either) within minutes of it being posted.

I should have Guru by now, but I prefer the blue team. The level of sucking of my posts are legendary and I have no intention to raise the bar.

Blue with a title. Nothing else matters.

And green is just a yellow Blue.

Red is a blue-less purple.
