On second thought, maybe I have been dragging on this spider thing for too long.

Remember this avatar, Mazra? There were like three people who had this avatar at one point (May 2010, I think?), all with different colored hair, and you just went nuts from all the confusion you were in. Smiley: lol I think you said something along the lines of, "I'm going to hurt you all until the hair color changes.

Sometimes you make it it too easy, Mazra. Smiley: grin

Edit: I'm going to edit the image out of my post, but you can still find it here. Looking at that thing almost gave me a headache.

I concur. Neither gods nor the Geneva Conventions will protect you if you put spiders, or images of spiders, anywhere near me.

Spiders scare the living daylights out of me, but they are insanely fascinating. I'm not sure if I've told this story before around here or not, but a friend of mine brought a book out of his house once, it was one of those creepy crawly encyclopedia things. He opened it to a page where if was a double page picture of a tarantula that had a red back bit (what's that called, anyways?) no idea on what the species is actually called. He then proceeded to chase me down the street for about half a mile holding this picture out and running full pelt. I've never wanted to punch anyone so hard in my life.

Truth be told, spiders scare the living hell out me, too--probably because I usually don't know how to tell whether it's a poisonous or not. I practically sh*t bricks every time I see one and kill it right away, or I'll let my cat have the honors if he spots it first.

I'm actually kinda surprised that I can handle spiders well in photos. I think my mind has developed the mentality that as long as it's not there physically to harm me, I won't be scared of it.

I'm totally enthralled by spiders, though I do freak out should one decide to crawl on me unexpectedly. If I find one in a web or crawling around, I'll generally just leave it alone and sometimes watch it. I do recognize the poisonous species native to my area though, and either kill them or take them outside.

To me, they're agile little killing machines quite literally on eight hair triggers, yet they're also incredibly efficient. They can sit still for so long that they appear dead, then move to immobilize their prey in seconds. They're smart enough to leave some prey living and paralyzed until it's needed, and to recognize the areas best suited for catching that prey. They're also perhaps nature's best artists (in my opinion, at least), and I hope that even you guys who are terrified of spiders can occasionally appreciate the beauty of a web other than the world wide one!

I'll stop going on about 'em though, as I'm sure the things that fascinate me probably freak some of you out a bit. Sorry!

The first spider was hatched in the womb of a bile demon from the inner circle of hell.

Just saying. They're not cute.

Some are cute. It is when they are crossbred with cats when they become scary.

I don't like spiders but they do fascinate me a bit. I really, really hate touching their webs though.

I don't like them in my house but I hate ants in the house even more and the spiders do catch and eat the ants so I leave them alone if they are set up near the spots where ants try to sneak in.

Cockroaches though.....ooh those creep me a lot worse than spiders.... :(

Cockroaches are Nature's way of saying ********** you humans. I can take whatever you throw at me."

Also, they're nasty little bastards.

Spiders are still cool, though.

How did those of you freaking out about spiders ever get through Spider Man?

For starters, Kirsten Dunst in a wet shirt.

And there are barely any spiders in the Spider-Man movies.
