ok, i am NOT complaining but does anyone else see a really high mana regen?

my ret paly has 117 spirit. she has a mana regen of 1191 out of combat.
when i put her on holy, she has 947 spirit and a mana regen of 2031 per 5.

did i miss something in the notes?

That sounds kinda like how it should be I thought. From Plusheal:

Quote:
Class base(85) MP5(85) MP5(80)
Druid 18635 931 174
Paladin 23422 1171 219
Priest 20590 1029 193
Shaman 23430 1171 219

So the ret. mp5 makes sense.

For the holy spec. My resto druid shows 2623 mp5 from 1726 spirit (spirit granting 557mp5 from the mouseover). I didn't math it, but your numbers don't seem largely inconsistent. Though I may well be missing something here.

hey thanks for the fast reply. ok, maybe it's just that i haven't looked in a while, it just seemed like a very high number for the amount of spirit. thanks!

I actually don't believe any of the paper doll regen numbers. No spec outside of healers has any mechanic to allow in combat regen from Spirit since the Cata changes. Yet all specs still have it showing.

Also my in combat says 2215(1623 from Spirit on mouseover though) vs 3401 for out of combat. Which doesn't make sense if Meditation is my only source of passive in combat regen.

How does a Ret pally get passive in combat regen out side of Judgement of the Bold and Replenishment? Do classes all still have in combat regen from Spirit?

I'm of the impression that the paper doll lies.

My understanding is thus:

1. Base mana regen - works for all mana using classes at all times. Flat rate that can't be enhanced in any way.
2. Spirit regen - works *in addition to base mana regen* for all mana using classes out of combat. Healers all get a spec talent that allows half of this to continue while in combat.

Then you add all the active mana regen stuff like Replenishment to get overall mana regen. So for instance on my Holy priest alt with mediocre gear:

Mana regen says 2781
Combat regen says 2431

1816 Spirit says it adds 1752 mp5.
2781-1752 = 1029 base mana regen, which agrees with someproteinguy's quote.

Meditation + Holy Concentration = 80% Spirit regen continues while in combat:
1752x80% = 1401.6
1401.6+1029 = 2430.6, rounded up to 2431

So at the very least for my Holy priest, all mana regen is accounted for correctly.
