Blizzard just announced that BlizzCon 2011 will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center from Oct. 21-22: http://wow.allakhazam.com/story.html?story=25141

As you can imagine, that's about it as far as details are concerned. Ticket information will be released in the coming months. Tickets were sold on June 2 and 5 last year, so I assume they'll go on sale around the same time this year.

It's still eight months away, but anyone plan to attend?

Tickets are a bit expensive, but it would be fun. I will have to try to convince the domestic boss to come with me. We shall see...

Actually, I feel like this will be the most unexciting Blizzcon of the past several years. I would have loved to go to many of them (though that was and is never going to happen, because even if I was willing to spend $150 on a ticket, I am not splurging for a plane ticket from NJ to CA).

But Blizz is kinda in a lull period between titles, aren't they? Cata is out, so the only thing you'll hear about on the WoW front are possibly some future expansion highlights as well as peripheral services like their mobile AH and such (hopefully there would be at least one new one to announce).

You might luck into a SCII expansion hands-on or something, but I doubt it--as far as I know no one really got to see the campaign for the first release beforehand--I assume they (likewise) wouldn't spoil the other two stories. And you'll only get so much from trying a few new units in a multiplayer battle.

Really, that leaves DIII and other titles. I'd love to hear more about these, of course (and by that, I mean salivating), but didn't they say that all classes that would be available at release had been announced? I'm not sure what else to expect in D3 news beyond a release date.

I'm sure the whole event would be a blast to attend. I'm just saying that, if I could only choose one to go to, it definitely wouldn't be this year's.

Although, if they announced a SC MMO (that was actually gonna make it to release) or a WCIV RTS game (which I doubt we'll ever see), I'd LOVE to be around the year those demos are available.

This year might finally be the unveiling of whatever 'Project Titan' is going to be.

I think they may introduce a new IP. I am thinking something in 3D with the ability to use voice commands to initiate character actions. This would involve the sales of Blizzard specific hardware. They probably have teamed up with Nvidia behind the scenes. The problem with be getting the data jack installed into your skull.
