New Video Series from the Sophisticated Fellows! Follow

#1 Feb 03 2011 at 3:46 PM Rating: Default
Hello everyone!

We have just begun our new WoW video series called "Whimsical Adventures in World of Warcraft". Normally we're into the whole top hatting and eating crumpets scene, but we've decided to branch out into video games. It's basically just a bit of fun where we try to have a laugh with the game. We've started new human chars in Scarshield Legion (RPPVP) where we'll progress through the game whilst taking the **** as much as possible :) . The series is in not any way serious and we hope the WoW community like it. Please leave any feedback, it would be immensely helpful. We also have a Minecraft series, and are planning others.

Let me translate that from English to American for you.

"We will progress through the game, but while we're doing it we're going to have a lot of fun."

Sorry if you think it's spam, I can completely understand. Any advice on other ways of promoting our videos? (other than forum "spamming")

Word of mouth doesn't work anymore? 'Votes' on youtube?

"Votes"? Explain :)

Also, unfortunately word of mouth only goes so far, especially when your target audience is on the internet, and mainly on forums such as this :/

Well, at least it's not a gold-seller or a research survey this time... Smiley: rolleyes

(people here tend to respond badly to 1st posts that are little but external links to other stuff)

I think the matter at hand is "How well will the target audience receive targeted advertisements blatantly placed on websites the frequently peruse?" rather than "How will I get word out about my video?"

Well provide some constructive criticism then :) If anything the main thing I could get from this forum it seems is means of getting views without going on forums. So pray tell, how do I do this?

How about starting somewhere where they know you and why your video matters to them? Somewhere you're already an established member, just pointing out you have a little video project as well.
Single posts to something that we're suggested to 'like' and 'subscribe' to just comes off as spam.

I'd encourage you to become an active and participating member of a forum before linking to your blog on it. The best advertising for your blog would be some good posts. If you seem like you have something intelligent to say here, people might actually be interested in following the links.

I suggest you make a drunken thread at some point.

Always a good icebreaker.

I enjoy subtle threats of violence and casual nudity to break the ice.

Blogs weren't getting me attention, so watch me play World of Warcraft. I've started a character. I may not have the faintest idea what World of Warcraft is or how to play it, but spend your play time watching me play instead. I may randomly assert that I'm female to get you basement dwellers to give me more clicks.

Er, right. This seems to be the next step after survey spam and blog spam. How many have we seen this month?

Summary: Three British guys on Vent, one with a pretty horrible microphone, talking about random things in the game while they quest, laughing at each other's jokes and stuff.

Pretty harmless and pretty pointless.

That does in fact sound rather boring.
