I just loaded up WoW and it downloaded an update... then it patched (Windows 7 gave me a warning about trusting the download and it said the publisher was "Unknown"... once downloaded it brought up the Blizzard patch screen (not the Launcher) and it seemed like it patched something then it opened up the Launcher...
I am just curious if anyone else had this happen today and actually know what it "updated".

Yep i just had my blizzard updater update it's updater and then a very small non-critical patch downloaded. No clue what it was though...

I'm updating now and the launcher says it's "downloading updated tools".
When it's patching, it says "downloading patch x.xxx.xxx whatever" - unless my memory serves me wrong.

Yeah, I get that.... but I wasn't on the Launcher screen. I had my WoW.exe already opened, because I had played earlier and when I logged in it showed the old patch download screen (the one where it looks like a character should be standing there) and said "Downloading patch..." once it got to 100% it said it needed to restart the game... then it opened up the old patch installer window (the one that looks like the Launcher a little... picture on top and a progress bar on bottom)... and proceeded to install it.
Then after that it closed that window and opened up the Launcher... where it didn't seem to download anything because iit already had.
I am guessing for everyone else the download went through the Launcher like it was supposed to, and for a few people it happened like it did for me, because our WoW.exe was already opened.
Oh... and I never thought this was a major patch... I just thought it was weird that it downloaded the way it did and then didn't say what it was for me... Evidently if I would have had the game closed out the Launcher would have told me what was getting updated.
I also noticed that I have to reset the volume level on that stupid play button, now that the launcher is called something different.
I keep forgetting to do that, and I get treated to a ridiculously loud VWHOOOM! noise every time I click the button.
Really, Blizz... did you have to make that thing so stupidly loud?
