So I've been pondering getting a Naga, I've watched videos and tutorials and such, and it looks pretty interesting, and I could imagine how such a device could improve my gameplay, but I'm still a little on the fence, partly due to the hefty price tag ($80-85 depending on shipping/who you get it from), and I've also been pondering a left-hand device as well (either a small detachable numpad that the left hand would use while the right hand is on the naga, or maybe something like the Nostromo), but again, I've just been brainstorming ideas.
I have two different computers, and one of my computers is not at a desk; I normally lay the keyboard in my lap, and the mouse is on a table that is slightly higher than it should be (which is why I still keyboard turn while using that computer -- it would tire my arm out if I had my hand on the mouse full-time). I don't do dungeons or PvP on that computer, though. I only do solo activities and light farming now-and-then.
If I get such a setup, I could imagine maybe laying the numpad on my left leg and maybe trying to get another table, or maybe a lap tray or something, but I can't seem to find any anywhere, was thinking of getting a family member to make a table that'd be the right height, that maybe the chair could slide under it, almost like a desk would be.
Any advice/suggestions on this?
I've also heard talk of other, similar gaming mice, but most people seem to say the the Naga is better than the others.
Edit: Also, my main concern, is that I will buy the naga and end up being more lost with it than I was without it. I can home-row type without looking at the keyboard, but I've never tried hovering my single thumb over a keypad and blindly press the right numbers, though I imagine having the icons on screen in order might help some.
How hard is it to get used to, and how easy is it to make mistakes, such as hitting the wrong button? I know they have "trainers" or little stickers you can put on the keys to help and all, but does it feel natural and such?
