I just got an email from blizzard stating that a password change request was activated. It wasn't me and I haven't tried to access my account in well over 2 years.
Where can I report this? And how often does this happen these days?
I wouldn't worry too much. I get mails like this from "blizzard" every other day. The first time I was concerned - until I read the email carefully and saw it was about an US account. I play on EU.
I've seen a phishing email before from blizzard and it went straight to my inbox. plus when I opened it gmail warned me that it might not be from who it says it is.
But this time it went straight to my inbox and no warning from gmail. It looked ok. Grammar looked good. Won't click the link to find out though ;)
If you can, you might consider going onto a comp that you don't use WoW on and mouseover the link to see where it leads(don't actually click it, that would be foolish no matter what comp you're on).
Got to battlenet and see if you can log in. But like others said most likely nothing to worry about.
exactly, go to battle.net directly and see if you can login, if you can it is spam if not then you may want to report something. I suppose you could also check the armory for your characters to see if anything is different on them (leveled up/etc).
