i played everquest online adventures for 6-7 years and i also played eq2 for 1 year and i was thinking of playing WoW since i can't play eqoa anymore (eqoa servers are mostly dead because of the eq and WoW war + i don't got a ps2 anymore and my ps3 isn't backwards compatible) so i was wondering what the similarities are
There was no WoW / EQ 'war.' MMO's, though they compete with each other, have their own niches, always.
As far as similarities, all 3 games are 3D, all 3 are played online, and all 3 have damage, healing, and tank classes.
Oh, you also have to press keys / buttons to do things.

you'd probably have much better luck finding wow players on an eqoa forum than eqoa players on a wow forum.
EQAO ... It's amazing anyone plays that any more. Only semi-cool back in it's day, it was never even technically possible for them to add a real "expansion" due to technical shortcomings (game did not require a hard drive in the PS2).
WoW was a much more complete, better game when it came out in 2004. It is now a much better game with over 6 years of polish. I wouldn't know where to start to actually answer your question. Just try it yourself! You can try WoW for free for 10 days (I believe) and that will tell you more than 100,000 carefully crafted words ever could.

Wow and Everquest 2 are pretty similar games. I miss the in game housing and guild halls from Everquest 2. I don't miss taking 3X as long to do pretty much anything on Everquest 2 compared to WOW though. I played EQ1 and EQ2 off and on for a long time and eventually both of them got boring to me. I never have in my life managed to hit max lvl in Everquest 1, I did once in Everquest 2 and got bored quick.
