Searching For An AddonFollow

For a long time I have been a micro-manager of all my toons, especially my druid. I like to be able to see all buffs, debuffs, procs and whatnot clearly on screen with timers so I'm not squinting to watch default symbols. Currently I am using DoTimers to watch my offensive bleeds and other abilities and NeedToKnow to watch all my procs, cooldowns and self buffs.

I want to move away from NeedToKnow, however. It only permits a maximum of 24 things to watch and quite frankly...I need more. I have tried Elkano's Buff Bars but I have found it doesn't quite suit what I need (or maybe I'm just not understanding it). Either way, anyone have suggestions or recommendations of an addon that can watch everything that might proc on or debuff me but avoid tracking raid buffs?

I have a lock, a rogue, and a feral druid. I understand the need to be able to watch DoTs, bleeds, and debuffs on my target. For this stuff I use Quarts, which is a casting bar mod and I have that stuff anchored to my target casting bar. There is also a proc plugin type addon for quarts that adds procs to the mirror bar handler, which I have anchored to my cast bar. Most of the procs have to have a "tracker" created for them so they appear on the bar handler, but that takes about two seconds to setup. While I have these anchored to their respective cast bars, I believe they can be unlocked and placed wherever.

I use MSBT to notify me when my cooldowns are up, but I recently grabbed ForteXorcist to track them. Not sure if I am going to keep it or not, just trying it out right now.

I believe Elkano's can do most, if not all of what you're looking for, but it would require extensive setup that I never really got into. Elkano's actually uses three different trackers and I believe that target trackers can be setup as well.

I use Satrina Buff Frames to show icons with timers for debuffs on targets (bars are also possible).

I use Power Auras to show spell Availability and procs.

I replaced both DoTimer and the various buff/debuff mods I'd tried and never been happy with with Raven. I don't see a lot of people using it but it may be worth checking out. I use it for timers, cooldowns, buffs, debuffs, and missing buff notifications. I'm very happy with it.

I recommend a combination of ForteXorcist (or whatever it is, someone linked it above) and Power Auras. Forte can give you timers (though technically you can do it with power auras too, forte just looks better imo), and power auras can keep track of your procs.

Your suggestions all sound very interesting. Especially Raven, if it does what I hope it does then it sounds like the all-in-one addon I just might make use of. Thanks everybody!

OMG, Raven is precisely what I've always wanted! It does everything! Thank you!

Edit: Just one question, how do I get it to stop showing the Global Cooldown on the short duration buffs bar?

2nd Edit: Nevermind, figured it out :-P

Rogue Power Bars Is what I use on Rogue, It has 2 sets of Movable bars One for debuff timers (For me it shows Bleeds, Vendetta, and other party debuffs that matter to me.) And a Buff set (Slice and dice, Envenom, Procs like Mongoose etc) In other words any Non standard buff that i get. You can Move these separately anywhere re-size then as small or big as you want, Make them Grow down up or Both ways (as it adds more bars for buffs/debuffs) I find it very useful on a few classes and you can program in any thing you want really.

Where have you been for my first 11k posts? This is far from the first time I haven't been civil.

And actually, that was a pretty tame post for when I'm flaming someone. Smiley: rolleyes

This is why the paper-thin FF people don't tend to come around these parts. Though tame compared to the off topic forums, it's just too real for them.

Where the thin-skinned aspect came in, I'm not sure. I assumed it was a typical holier-than-thou nerdrage over a completely pointless issue that we're used to seeing from a few of our regulars. So, I sarcastically OMGWTFRAGE'd over it and simply blank-minded Quartz, probably because I deal with the measurement on a regular basis, spelled quarts.

An admin then stepped in and deleted the posts.

Someone then felt the need to add to their e-peen counter and keep it going.

If that's what they need to inflate their ego, by all means, continue. Not going to bother me one way or the other.

I know, me too... I have no idea what's going on. Sounds like at least one person earned a llama though.

It was actually the admin that I was calling thin-skinned. Had you reported me or some other such ridiculous thing, I'd be calling you thin-skinned, but you reacted pretty typically (Rusttle is the reaction I try for, when he counters with "WELL UR FAT AND UGLY THEO").

No, it's the censorship I have a problem with. Xsarus, DF, and Word haven't actually karma-bombed or deleted any of my posts before, they usually let everyone around here police the forum by letting me know when I step over a line.

I have a problem with Final Fantasy admins randomly stopping by and deleting posts because they're too thin-skinned and half-witted to realize that it's the frakking internet and most people don't get super offended around here when I call them an idiot. Most people have been called an idiot at one point or another by me (including myself); it's kind of like a rite of initiation around here.

Or something.

I need to drink more.

Edit: incoming ban/post deletion for bad-mouthing an overzealous admin. Smiley: rolleyes

In case there's a misunderstanding, I have the exact same issue as Theo here.
This isn't the FF forums where everyone's a swhimp and things need to get deleted or they'll lose posters (because, as we know, there's a shortage of them over there).
If someone thinks that something is too 'mean' or whatnot, let them have Karma sort it out.

After looking at people's suggestions, I replaced Blizzard's buff and debuff icons with Raven bars. I just had them grow up off the top of my screen (limiting display to last 5 buffs), with the most recent buff or debuff on the bottom. I also used castbars to make my castbar, as well as target and focus castbars more readily seen. Even though I am focused on healthbars, now I can see when the boss is casting. Things are working very well.

Yeah Theo, you're mean!
Also you're fat, ugly and live in your mother's basement cause you're a nerd.

On a more serious note: Quartz for castbars and debuffs on target.
SBF for long buffs (5 minutes and longer), short buffs, debuffs on me and special buffs/debuffs.
ForteXorcist for (proc) cooldowns.

Man, I always miss the good things.

Unfortunately, OP,I cannot help you as I'm lame and don't realy use an addon to watch my buffs and debuffs and whatnot. I'm honestly pretty lazy when it comes to having to set up an addon. But I'm glad you got what you wanted from the others that posted above. =)
