I'll bite.

Roll one of each and take them to 20. Shouldn't take too long. Keep the one you like.

I don't understand the concept of trying to get other people to make decisions for you. Your idea of fun doesn't equal mine and vice versa.

I would suggest rolling a Warrior. Why? Because its playstyle speaks to me.

That being said, what appeals to you? What 'type' of class could you see yourself playing? I can say you should play a Holy Priest because they're awesome, versatile healers, and are always in demand ... won't do a whole lot of good if you don't want to heal and would rather be stabbing your enemy in the back with a pointy stick.

So tell us a little about yourself if you want 'guidance.' (Other than what Killienmage said, which is decently good advice too, because 'I like blowin' things up' is great and all, but you do have to enjoy playing your class too).

Warrior is probably best at tanking out of them
Priest is probably best at healing
Mage is probably best at DPS
Rouge is probably best at makeup

Edit: Sorry, I should have mentioned that a warrior might beat a mage in DPS as well. I hear mages are at the low end right now, but it's just hearsay. Rouge, as always, remains makeup.

By this I'm guessing you're either aiming at being a tank, DPS, or a pretty pretty princess?

Well, you have your answer then. WAR if you want the option of tank or DPS. Paladin would also work, as well as DK or Druid.

I have a pally and a Druid. Pally don't seem to handle tanking very well I think warr would keep agro better

Depends a lot on your gear and skill as a player as well. And especially in Cataclysm, on the ability of your groupmates to attack the target the tank assigns. Gone are the days of AoEing everything and moving on. CC and targeting, especially at lower item levels, are a necessity.

I haven't heard anything about tanking being overly hard besides some grumbling about druid tanking nerfs.

Lose aggro, wipe party, solo boss.

Profit.

Prots are very powerful tanks due to the ridiculous self healing capabilities from Word of Glory.

rogues are overpowered
rouges are overpowdered

prot spec is for tanks
port spec is for ships

old jokes are old
new jokes are new

more on topic, are Prot warriors still doing insane AoE DPS?

Don't roll a class because of it's current state (Mages are slighly lower on DPS than others right now - especially for a pure DPS class)

Warriors are tanks and DPS. Be ready to tank if you roll one. A lot of guilds expect Wars to at least have an off-spec as a tank. As tanking goes, I've never liked them, but that's just an opinion...

Priests are fun, but you must be prepared to heal. People won't demand you heal, but like warriors, people might find a complete refusal to heal as a bit... 'stand-off-ish' I have an 82 priest and they are fun. They have 2 healing specs, and only 1 DPS spec.

Mages are not the top DPS right now, but you don't care about that. They are very fun to play, but for newer players, many people consider them one of the harder classes to level. You use mana, you wear cloth, and you effectively have no heals. (For example, leveling my Paly - which is basically the opposite of a mag - was much easier)

Rogues are fun. They rely on a completely different power source than anything you've mentioned before. It takes a bit of time to get used to it. I hate playing a cat druid (Which is basically a rogue) so I never leveled a rogue past 15. I suggest you at least try it out though - people who play them, love them.

Short answer: Level all of them to 20 and pick your favorite.

Well I live the priest. So ive limited it down to a warr cause priest can do pretty good dps. But a warr is a instant que for dugeons so I'm torn..

If not me, then who?

I mean everyone seems to have their niche they fill. You and Aeth are the resident troll/ahole/elitists. Horse and Maz are the drunks but tend to make constructive posts. Protein observes nicely. Noc is the lurking hottie ( <3 you noc).

Or just be like me and roll all classes !

Also i wish i had noticed this thread earlier, one of my biggest pet peeves is rouge( ugh its hard typing it out.

Rogues are hit or miss either you get the class and do good or you suck, it seems. I constantly topping charts, but when I heal I see lackluster rogues that sit at 8k dps. A lot of them say well im still in greens which I reply I was doing 10-11k in greens when starting normal and heroics.

Anyway yeah do what others have said and move on.
