My guild had the first try on Magmaw yesterday. I was the third healer, as druid. I`m quite sure I`m undergeared for it (every meter says so to me) but I thought that I wasnt that bad either.
Yes, I can`t throw rejuvs anymore, yes, all I can do is WG, LB, Nourish and Efflorescence right now. And, yes, the paladin healer was way over than me and the other healer. Still, I dont think druids are that bad.

They're not that bad. That's the overreaction from everyone. They just aren't quite as good as a pally or a priest, and with no tank CD's or anything else really there's no reason to bring them for guilds really pushing progression. Which honestly isn't many guilds.

I think part of the problem for me is the learning curve. DPS is fine for me, I'm used to CCing from BC, I pay enough attention to the fight to not stand in stupid stuff (most of the time) and I try to use my damage reduction cooldowns to help the healer.

I haven't felt this useless at healing since vanilla, I'm actually reminded a lot of the first group runs I did with friends, mainly using healing touch to try and keep the tank alive and topping off the dps where I could. Everyone was super careful as with only one res every 30mins and quite often respawns would prevent us from running back it really was an issue if people died (most of us were inexperienced and none had raid gear, I'm sure skilled people found the 5mans a piece of cake). At one point we made friends with a priest who healed our runs and it was amazing how much smoother runs went with him doing it rather than me.

I now have similar feelings. I could heal and get the practice to become good at it again, or I could just pass responsibility over to one of my paladin friends who get the job done a lot better than I would. It's a viscious cycle, I don't get any better because I don't practice, but on the other hand I don't want to make the run harder for my group by insisting I heal it.

Hopefully gear upgrades will help (though I'd be a bit depressed if I need heroic level gear just to complete heroics) or I can always give my paladin a try and hope I find that easier than relearning druid. The changes to rejuv in the upcoming patch also seem promising, although I guess it's early days for that yet.
