It seems the introduction of flying mounts has lead to a huge increase in ganking in areas like duskwood and redridge (places level capped players wouldn't usually go) Has anyone else experienced this? I wish I rolled on a PvE server to be honest...

Well, $25 or a re-roll can fix this problem for you. Not to sound callous or smart aleck, but you always have the option of going to another server. <Lv60 characters I'd simply just reroll; $25 per character might sound like a lot, but it beats constantly being frustrated.

I'm not really that bothered about it...was just pointing out it was something I've noticed whilst playing on lowbies.

Pvp servers are about ganking, rarely a fair fight. Reroll on a PVE server and get in Arena or BG's for PVP action.

I've only really played on my PvE server. I'll have a go on my lowbie druid's PvP server tonight and see how rough it is. Imagining it's pretty bad, what with all the archeology flyers around.

If I ran into a lowbie while working on Archeology I would probably kill it too! But I'm just an *** Smiley: nod

I imagine its the release of some pent-up frustration from levelling. Also found that you can have 4 horde and 4 alliance on the same quest and all it takes is for an extra horde or alliance to show up to turn it into World War III!

Don't forget Dalaran is dead; the big boys are in a city near you and they are bored...

That's inevitable on a PvP server. It isn't fair, of course, but no PvP game I have ever played is fair. I'm mildly surprised you expected anything else.

I leveled my first guy to 70 on a PVP server. I kind of miss the thrill of looking around constantly thinking there is someone behind every tree. Now with old world flying though, I imagine it's much worse than when I was leveling.

Archaeology is probably the biggest reason people would see and gank random targets, but it also offers incentive to gank and move on, which is good.

Was it subtle?Smiley: tongue

Firefox seems to recognize both. I just wanted to mention the whole "Since Archaeology keeps you moving, at least there won't really be corpse camping" thing.

I play on a PvE server and rarely engage in world PvP, but Archaeology is indeed a good opportunity.

Normally, I would just ignore a flagged lowbie, but last night surveying in Hellfire what do I see, but a flagged DK (63ish)...all alone. I decided, eff it, he's stupid enough to be flagged in the middle of nowhere, I'll be a richard and kill him. I even gave him a chance to get away. I walked slowly toward him and then stealthed. If that's not a sign to gtfo, I don't know what is. But I just killed him once, no camping.I got my artifacts and took off to the next dig site.

I've noticed, at least for the most part, on a pvp server right now that people tend to just leave each other alone. With the new expansion we are all busy and just trying to do our thing to for the most part people are left alone when questing or archaeology.

Death from above!!!!

On Emeriss we have an influx of Allies. They haven't really understood the whole concept of Horde heavy servers. They try to gank you! On a PVP server! On a PVP island!

I was shocked the first time it happened to me. This was such a weird sensation. The original Allies on our server have grown docile, might even say domesticated. This new prey is confusing the hell out of me.

Here's hoping it lasts >:D I don't think so though because once they gank a Hordie, there are 6 Hordies rushing in for PVP action.

But ye, on my server at least ganking seems to have gone up. No city attacks yet, I'm hoping someone comes and kills Garrosh, i'm so looking forward to that :P

I've played on PvP servers since before WoW launch, so my 2 copper come from experience.

Aside from this past summer when I decided to roll a lock on a PvE server. It was so relaxing - not watching over my shoulder all the time. There is nothing "pro" about PvP servers, as real "world PvP" has been dead since 1.0.6, which is over 5 years ago. 99% of "world PvP" consists of someone who is bored running around 1-shotting and griefing lowbies. Feel free to look them up on armory - they will almost always be poorly rated arena players in crap gear that just suck at the game and need an avenue for feeling better. Only about 1% of "world PvP" is actually a fair and balance fight, or even remotely interesting.

At this point, I'm only on PvP because all my friends are. Real PvP takes place in BGs and arenas. I feel old saying this but if it were up to me, I'd be on PvE.
