So there is something like 75-100 non-combat pets for an above average collector. I get nauseous when I think back on the whole Pokemon craze but isn't Blizz big on the whole "extended-the-subscription" concept. Stuff like achievements, etc? How tough would the mechanics be to square up these pets against each other with slightly random results between closely matched levels? I could spend many a night just wagering on my pets to earn me something on "Fight Night" once a week or month.

It would be fun, stress-free competition much like the Steam Tonks where people could talk trash and wind down from instances. Anyone remember "Robot Wars"...that was some seriously addictive Saturday night entertainment.

Somewhere, a member of DEHTA just wept.

But seriously, I doubt it would be very hard to encode, considering there are already pets that somewhat fight eachother.

I was very sad to find out that the Joust pets don't fight each other.
