NPCs That Make You LaughFollow

Blizz has always had a penchant for cheeky NPCs. Whether it be original or something hinting of a movie, television, book or other well know figure. I've always enjoyed this.

Tonight I found one that just caught me for whatever reason. There is a quest you pick up, I believe, in Hyjal. Where you pretty much just have to show up at Blackrock Caverns, outside, then turn in just inside. I thought nothing of it when I picked it up and have taken my time actually completing. I finally remembered the quest while I was in SW. So I flew over to BR and turned it in. Well, the NPC is "Finkle Einhorn". I got quite a chuckle out of it. I'm a big Jim Carrey fan. Loved him since In Living Color. Fire marshal Bob!

When I saw the NPC's name I had a rush of images; Ace chugging toothpaste, burning clothes and crying in the shower. Priceless!

Any of you have favorite parody NPCs or found any new ones you enjoyed or got a laugh out of?

Finkle's been around for a long time. I bet you'd get a kick out of pulling him out of The Beast's stomach in UBRS.

On the Horde side, to get into Twilight Highland (or w/e that zone is called) there is a easy quest chain that starts of the Board.
The "last: quest has you waiting for a blimp to take you in, but standing there are 2 goblins that talk smack to each other and explain safety "protocol". At one point one shows a parachute and asks the other gob if they would like to demonstrate how it works and the female gob says "oh hells no! Them things are Death traps!"
I found it funny, as you have to then use them a few minutes later...

^^^^^ Summary of that briefing: "Ladies and Gentlemen, Goblin Engineering!" "As you know air is weightless, so to make a lighter-than-air vehicle we needed to bend a few of the laws of Physics. We bent the hell outta 'em."

I'm pretty sure every non-Dragonmaw NPC in this expansion has shown up previously. It's like an awesome "where are they now?" One of the non-quest druids in Hyjal, if you're a Druid, will mention how he helped you get your swift flight form and then grip about how druids today have it too easy. I need to level a new druid and see if he says the same thing, I know it changes for non-druids.

I think the best line from those goblins is " And for those of you allergic to almonds we provide cyanide in many different flavors."

Also in a quest in Silverpine for the forsaken there is a quest where 3 forsaken follow you. Some awesome moments there, "Some want to just watch the world burn, some want to be the ones to start the fire" and when you rescue a forsaken soldier as he run away one of your 'troops' shot him in the back and say "Mercy killing"

I was laughing my head off. Then there's the Uldum quest "Camel tow"

This quest in Vashj'ir. Which gives you this reward.

And when you turn it in...

Why, <name>! What a surprise!

If anyone ever calls your character into question you be sure to send them my way.

I'll tell anyone who'll listen that in my moment of need, you gave me a case of crabs...

Taint in the UK means something tarnished or unclean, I'm still not sure why our US friends find it so funny :s

It means the same here but some have used it for slang for the rear end also, so thats where it can get funny. Probably a cultural slang. Its not a well known slang either so its probobly very limited to who would consider it humorous, it took me a few reads to see what he was pointing at myself.

Edit: Damn you Locke, you beat me!

Ok, so who couldn't resist playing the Cameltoe song on the stereo while doing the Camel Tow quest?

The three tall tales in the badlands quests are hilarious.

huge spoiler here
A dwarf that punched Deathwing in the face, a gnome the size of a skyscraper who pulls deathwing out of the sun and throws him to kalimdor and an orc who saves one of his female admirers (pick between an orc, nightelf, human or a male bloodelf) on a flying motorcycle before beating Deathwing in a knife fight. And you get to act it all out, how much more awesome can quests get?

The new "Sending a message" quest in Uldum made me chuckle. You have to kill 3 captains.. Captain Margun, Captain Cork, and Captain Kronkh.

There's a quest in WPL that has you taking a troll druid in training out with you to show him the ropes. He really hasn't gotten a hang of the whole druid thing and will end up switching into aquatic form mid battle and end up stuck on his back. He also switches to moonkin form and proceeds to cast moonfire or one of those types of spells on himself. Made me sort of chuckle.

There's an NPC in thousand needles who comes back to haunt you after you kill him. He has a number of funny comments including ones about his wife (ex-wife). Annoying after a while but funny at first.

I like the daily quest guy in Tol Barad who says something like "We never run out of things to do around here. New orders come in every day at 3 am. It's strange."

The quest line in Un'Goro Crater is one of few quests that made me laugh out loud. The one where you help the human "slay dragons" and save some damsels in distress.

Edit: Maximillian of Northshire is the NPC. His quest line starts with An Important Lesson for anyone interested.

I'm kind of sad, they seem to have taken Linken out of the game. Has anybody seen him around Un'goro since Cata started?

If I had to name one NPC that made me laugh, I'd say it was Schnottz in Uldum. I swear, when he started yelling 'NINE NINE NINE NINE NINE NINE!' I 'lol-ed' pretty hard.

If you don't get it, Schnottz is a reference to Hitler, and 'NINE NINE NINE NINE NINE NINE!' is a reference to the movie Inglorious Basterds.

Near the end of the Deepholm quest line

Boldrich Stonerender, "Deathwing will have his way with your Stonemother".

I was in one of the Orgrimmar banks and had a male goblin tell me, in a wiseguy voice:

"GTL, friend. Gambling...tinkering...laundry."

Oh, yeah, Schnottz, definitely. For those who didn't realize, he's a Goblin in Uldum and his questline is a direct reference to the entire second world war. He's wearing a nosering that looks like Hitler's moustache, he's got a bunch of followers that "ignore his political side" but stay with him for other reasons, he demands that his soldiers always wear the same costumes and has dubbed this idea "fashionism", and an assassination attempt at him fails after which he proceeds to imprison his 'party-attenders' and attempts to 'execute' you. He's also got a turkey named "Gobbels".

I'm really still unsure how there hasn't been a major uprising of butthurt people about the whole ordeal yet. I think the questline is a brilliant parody, but this is easily the kind of thing that people get offended about.

Edit: Oh, there's one I forgot! SEVERE STOMACH PAIN?!?!?!?!!

I thought it was funny when I returned from the tank quest to Schnottz to find him unconscious in a burning building and then he later blamed me for trying to assassinate him, because I did deliberately lob a cannonball at his building while I was on the tank quest. I assume that all of that would have happened the same way if I didn't fire at him, but did anybody do that quest line and not try to off him? It just seems so obvious: The guy's an evil jerk, I'm driving a tank, I've just seen that the cannonballs take out the Schnottz troops indiscriminately when I fire on the attacking statues... BOOM!
