Flying makes old world seem bigger, not smallerFollow

OK, well at least the cities feel bigger.

Org for instance - that'd always felt like a fairly small city to me and even putting aside the extra stuff added by Cata, when you simply fly over and just look at what's left of the old sections (and discover that even a 310 speed mount doesn't get you from one side to the other in just a few seconds) you get to truly appreciate just how big the place really is.

Or how's about Dire Maul? From the old perspective you really only saw what was in front of you and simply bee lined for whatever part of it you were going into, but being able to fly over the place one can't help but look at all of that real estate and appreciate the fact that it truly was a massive city at one point.

Now that everyone's finished the race to 85 I'd encourage all of you to start at the top of a continent and just grab a flight point to the southern half and actually spend the entire time looking at all of the awesome new changes and rearranging of the world as we knew it, as well as just doing some exploratory flying on your personal mount, not for the explorer achievement, but simply for the sake of seeing all of the new stuff as well as re-seeing the old stuff from an entirely new perspective.

Happy sight seeing!

I started Archaeology yesterday and hear Rusttle very well. The thing is that every expansion, we've had portals to literally any place we wanted to go to - with Cataclysm, some stuff actually requires flying again, and on continents twice the size of Outlands/Northrend, we feel this.

I like it. For now, at least - I'll probably rage again once I get my Archaeology up and get sick of all the flying from Tanaris to Winterspring.

Flying over the ruins of Lordaeron (Undercity) was quite amazing.

I've been leveling archeology (up to 360 now) and even with crusader aura, it's true that Azeroth is huge and it feels like it. In a few weeks time this feeling of vastness will probably if not disappear, surely diminish as you start spending less time flying and more time in capital cities joining pugs or what not.

Being able to fly in the old world makes it hell when levelling new characters due to the speed they run at. I do enjoy flying around the world with graphics turned up, its pretty spectacular.

I know I'm way behind but I just logged onto one of my 80s for the first time since Cataclysm... I bought the flight skill and flew around Stormwind.

What a liberating feeling! It's a place I've known only from the ground for so many years ... Seeing it all in one screen from way above was just an awesome feeling.

I'm sticking with my friends and going to keep leveling my new Goblin rogue (currently 42). I can't wait to get her up to Epic flying soon :)

As I am working on my new Troll Druid I have barely used any flight masters post level 60. Flight form was only 2.12 gold and came with free expert flying. I spent the gold on Flight Masters License and never looked back.

It's simple enough to point at the next dig-sight and make a sandwich or get a beer if you need, but if you have everything already prepared you can just watch out for nodes and swoop down.

Seriously. I noticed things about SW I never knew were there(the clock tower on top of that other Stockades looking building, for instance, which I confirmed with an older Machinima as having been there all along).
