Please help! I'm Horde faction, and have a bunch of turtle meat, a need to skill up my cooking, and can't find a Soothing Turtle Bisque recipe on any of the databases I've searched. The quest for the recipe is gone post cataclysm.

According to this the quest (and then the recipe) comes from Tarren Mill (I've only ever got that recipe on Alliance side, so I had to look it up). The page doesn't mention it being taken out with Cataclysm but, if you can't find that guy and if the recipe doesn't show up from any cooking trainers, then perhaps it is gone.

In that case, you could always see if there are any other recipes for that skill level that will level your cooking skill up. You can also take the cooking daily quest in Orgrimmar, which gives you a skill up or two for completing it.

Do the cooking dailies give you skill ups regardless of your cooking level? I've been avoiding them because I figured you needed to be at 450 to get them.

It is also possible to level cooking from 1 to well in the 400s on nothing but fish.

There's always been a "Meat Path" and a "Fish Path" .... personally I always did Fish Path because it leveled both Cooking and Fishing at the same time, though Fishing did take longer TBH.

My suggestion is to vendor that turtle meat if you can't find the recipe, grab a rod, and get up to where you can fish up what you're supposed to be cooking at that level (browse a database to see what fish that is) and go to it.

The Orgrimmar cooking (as well as fishing) daily quests give experience (as well as crafting skill-ups) which is commensurate with your level. My level 40 toons are getting a couple thousand exp if I recall correctly, while my level 80 toons are getting upwards of 20,000. You also get a point or two (I forget which) in the craft of that quest.

I've done the cooking dailies with toons ranging from level 20 to level 81. Quite worth it for the little time and effort.

Also, the Orgrimmar cooking daily is the only way (that I know of) to get the cooking tokens needed for the high-end recipes.

According to the comments from the above link, he's outside the inn near the weaponsmith. He used to be inside the inn in Tarren Mill.
