Is awful. The flight ceilings are so damn low in Felwood/Ashenvale that it's impossible to fly over the trees, so you run into frakking everything.

I've been leveling Archaeology, and it's really messing with my system.

By contrast, Eastern Kingdoms is fantastic. You can fly over all the trees in STV, and once you aim yourself via the continent map, you can go make a sandwich or get a beer.

Unless you try to fly over Refuge Pointe.

Then you get dismounted in mid-air, even if you're Alliance.

I assume it has something to do with that stupid BG portal that's no longer needed (due to the PvP LFG system), can't think of any other reason why Refuge Pointe should dismount a player.

Eh, I'm flying to dig sites, and there's usually not any on line with Refuge Pointe (usually I either take the zeppelin from Grom'gol to UC or the other way around, since most dig sites seem to be either far south or far north).

Good to know, though. Luckily I'm out of the Azeroth levels (Archaeology 300+ now), so I'm in Outland, where everything is nice and spaced out.

Question about archeology, Theo... after level 100 or so, will finding items no longer give skill-ups? Then is it just for solving the puzzles? If so, man, this is going to take FOREVER! I'm at like 83 skill and only get a skill-up every third or so find. Does that change in Outland?

/agree

Makes flying between Hyjal and Darnassus a bit on the annoying side as well. Smiley: frown

I flew from Hyjal, over part of Winterspring and into Moonglade, and I was well above all trees with only sky around me. Maybe I was just over low tree areas.

I've noticed myself hitting invisible walls sometimes when flying, sometimes I'm hitting visible ones but eventually I find myself going through them if I strafe along them.

Oh I'm over the trees. But if I start to head up to soon my drake doesn't seem to want to move up, and starts cringing like he has a bellyache or something.

Survey goes gray at 100. I think it's green from 75 on.

It's worth it to push through as many digsites as you have patience for before solving anything. It's the most efficient way (the artifacts give the same skillups regardless of if they're points 50-54 or 130-134), and it reinforces the fact that Archaeology competes with Fishing in terms of the amount of patience it demands.

Nope, doesn't change in Outland.

When you start getting stuff you can slot the special green items into (Dwarf Rune Stones, Highborne Scrolls, Troll Tablets, etc), it gets a lot faster.

It helps that you get some decent exp from it, tbh.

The greens get used when you place them though, right? I'm thinking I should just save everything until I hit the 100 mark?

Yes, without a doubt. I made that mistake (not waiting til 100), and it's taken me quite a bit longer to level.
