When I played in Beta this was in fact the case, you couldn't even queue for Lich king instances if you hadn't discovered them D:. I don't know, I can't say I really approve of this change, but then again it's not that big of a deal either.

It is somewhat annoying, in some ways, but, then again, having to discover the dungeon's entrance forces people to explore the world and be part of it, instead of sitting in Ironforge and just instantly queueing for a dungeon over and over without leaving. It will also help people to know where the dungeon's entrance is so that they can find it when they die while running it (and they will die ... Many times).

I flew to a dungeon today. A guildie had just hit 80 recently and wanted some gear to help leveling. We took him to the ICC five mans and had to fly in since his gear wouldn't let us queue for the place.

Wasn't a big deal.

To be fair, pretty much all of them are really really obvious. Except Throne of the Tides, that is. Usually when there's a humongous friggin' whirlpool your instinct is to avoid it, but no, to get into TotT you actually need to swim straight into it. Took me a couple of minutes swimming through Vashj'ir to find that out.

Apparently you and I have different instincts.

The hidden levels in games are often in whirlpools.

Will be somewhat annoying after having to do this on multiple toons. Slightly bottlenecks grouping but as said not a really big deal. Guess changes are people who can't figure out how to find the places prob won't be able to get through them anyways.

Ladies and gentlemen, we may have a winner! This may correctly predict both summmo's next post and his probable spelling.

True and after jumping into the one in Darkshore and being pleasantly surprised I decided to push my luck and check out the one in STV. Umm, let's say that not every door opens to happiness.

My money says he won't capitalize "Um".

Bit of a pain keeping HMs in your active movepool, though, unless you have two mons dedicated solely to their use.

I think having to discover the dungeons is a good thing. And to reveal my secret elitist side, with resources like the one I linked readily available, if somebody is unable to fly to a zone clearly marked on a map with clear instructions on how to get there, I probably don't want to group with them.

But I do like this nice concise list of the what the new dungeons are and where they are, being as I am completely unfamiliar with the 80-85 content. I just found out yesterday what the names of those first two 80 zones even are.

(So I'm pretty sure what I just said is, I'm ignorant, but I certainly don't want to group with anyone even MORE ignorant.)

Another great link to keep handy while levelling our first 85 character. Blackrock Caverns map even shows how to reach the entrance portal inside the mountains :)

Discovering the entrances to dungeons should be fun on our first characters. It should also help people find their way back to the dungeons in the event of deaths(about half the players in my experience didn't know how to get back to ICC 5-man entrances). But it will also become a chore by the time we are levelling our fourth alts and will add nothing positive to the playing experience.

Wyz!

That's my guildie. :)

Yes, agree there should be some kind of account-wide thing, where if you've discovered it once on any character that counts for everyone.

Teacake categorically stated in our guild forums that all the cool wow players are at Allakhazam, no exceptions ^.^

That's how my guild, Kalivha and Aethien in particular, got me posting here. I feel manipulated.

The fact that one of your sources was that nerd Aethien should have tipped you off. Smiley: grin

I'd like to think I'm cool, but I think it's only as such because of talk of Bewbs, Beer and pictures.

I definately think you should have to have discovered entrance to que. Just recently returned to wow and qued for random dungeon and ended up in icc 5 man. I had never been there and when I died I had no clue where entrance was. Even though I had been very clear I had never been there before led to some name calling.

Your mage is in my guild, so that automatically makes you cool.

Crap, now I have to gkick Feyras so that my above statement is always true.
