Like 95% of the world is against PETA. There are just a few loud people who make you think people believe that junk. I've never met anyone in RL who supports it. I actually wear leather hoping one day someone throws red paint on me, for the assault I'd beat the **** out of them. Oh it would so make my day, red paint on me, them drenched in blood.

OMG EWW PETA.

PETA in my video game. DO. NOT. WANT.

Seriously, its just like cowardly PETA to have this event held on a PVE server and not PVP one or a million enraged WoW players would advance upon the PETA members and slaughter them. By the great hunting god Nesingwary's beard, I know I wouldn't allow this to happen on my server!

I'm both happy and disappointed they are not on my server. Happy because I won't have such nonsense intruding upon my gaming; disappointed I won't get to slaughter them in game.

As has been said before:

They have to flag themselves. I.E.: You can attack them.

Occaisionally PETA can be useful. For instance, I would never have heard of this without them. So they might not be useful in the way they want, but if you follow their news you find out about all sorts of cool stuff.

So now they are Pixels for the Ethical Treatment of Animals? Someone needs to create a guild called the PETA Club, they focus on beating the PETAphiles and killing small creatures.

OoT: Mental, your avatar is awesome. I remember the 1st time I read it, I lol'ed hard.

On Topic: I'd go to kill the seals... cuz I am sick and messed up in the head like that. I mean I wouldn't go kill mass seals in the real world. . .that is why I play WoW, to kill Humanoids and Animals.

Waste of time. Did someone forget to tell those PETA pinheads that none of this is REAL??? We play this game to kill sh*t. End of story.

I can't imagine that they won't get laughed off the server. There'll probably be a handful of people who come out to support them, but they're gonna be hard pressed to find any seals to make an example of. Of course, after they've had their faces rubbed in their own stupidity, they'll run back to their websites to crow to the world about their resounding victory and denounce the barbarism and cruelty of gamers.

Blizzard made a poor choice in condoning this, but I doubt they'll feel any backlash from it. This won't cause any uproar beyond the hour or two that the event lasts. I just think it'd be hilarious if half the server converged on that one zone and caused a crash.

Is Blizz actually condoning this? Don't think i have seen anything from them one way or the other.

One could reasonably take the position that when the other way to level involves slaughtering untold numbers of other humanoids, worrying about animals is really stupid.

Of course, you could also take the position that PETA is, in and of itself, really stupid.

So, when do we break the news to PETA that Canadians are out of the stone age and use shotguns instead of clubs to kill seals?

I guess about the same time that PETA accepts the fact that the hunting season exists to cull the population and that hunting whitecoats is a crime.

That seems wrong. Can you still use a club if you want to cause you know, it is more fun?

What do a walrus and Tupperware have in common?

They both like a tight seal.

PLEASE say WhisperWind is PvP. If it is, oh man, who is with me for rolling a bunch of DKs for some "Slaughter-PETA-Not-Animals!" fun?

Unless I'm mistaken, Whisperwind is PvE.

Which means that if someone leveled a DK to say...70, they could kill the seals that PETA is trying to protect in complete immunity while PETA "Makes a statement" by killing the 4 hordies over and over.

You can at least slaughter the DETA druids at their camp - that's very satisfying.

This Saturday at 1 p.m. EST, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) is inviting players on the WhisperWind server to meet in Howling Fjord and combat a team of four Horde seal killers.

What I have to wonder is whether these Horde players are farmers and some PETA member got emo because they were taking all of the chilled meat or if PETA actually has its members playing these Horde toons so that other people can come and beat up on them?

Darn, was gonna use that one, ok -

A seal walks into a bar and the bartender asks it, "What'd you like to drink?" to which the seal replies "Anything but a Canadian club on the rocks."

I foresee a complete and utter extinction of any seal like creature on the whisperwind server right around the time the PETA folks are set to arive. (probably even sooner)

It just has to suck to be alliance on that server. If the PETA folk's are friendly to you then how do you kill them? Lets hope Blizzard makes them a faction you can declare war against.

I'm against PETA for the simple reason that they're a bunch of douchebags and hypocrites who care more about animals than people. I'm all for animal rights - to a certain extent. I don't believe in animal testing cosmetic products for example, but I still like to eat meat. PETA just goes about things in a completely asinine way. As one of the other posters quoted, they condone violence against humans, just not people. They also have a habit of objectifying women in their ads and "stunts" which makes absolutely no sense. Objectify women to raise awareness of objectifying animals? Not to mention this. That's just wrong on so many levels...

If I had more time I would roll a DK and level him up just to try and wipe them out.

I think 95% of the world is against PETA. I mean they have a comic series called "YOUR DADDY KILLS ANIMALS" that they apparently give out to schools. It's nuts. Take a look at this one, "Ask your daddy why he's hooked on killing"

I support PETA in theory. I don't believe people should be hurting animals for no reason. I'm also against animal testing- except rats. no one cares about them. :). But putting cosmetics on animals to see if they go blind? That is horrible!

I would never belong to PETA because they are anarchist extremists. Anarchy is just dumb. So many people on the internet think anarchy is cool, but they have no idea what real anarchy is. And the extremist part is self explanatory. The second reason I don't support PETA is I eat meat. I go to the gym and am trying to improve my upper body. I simply cannot get enough protein without eating meat. It tastes pretty good too. :)

P.S. I do support animal control as well. I realize the deer population on the east coast would get out of control and create many traffic accidents. Though hunting is a bit barbaric. As the animal does suffer until the hunter puts it out of its misery with a head shot. But its better than being hit by a car.

I'm all for saving animals that are abused, mis-treated but after reading things about this PETA group I am now really hoping i don't meet a supporter in the street, I might punch them and not feel guilty :|
