I have to agree that something needed to be done about the problems we are currently dealing with in the game. As a former IT guy, I also know how 1 single problem can branch out to many issues. Or that one small code change can cause other problems. This is the world of programming and computers.

Personally I enjoy ALL aspects of the game. I like to PVP as much as I do PVE. Yes, I would like all of this to be fixed yesterday, but I also have to be realistic too. Knowing that anytime you try and correct a bug (or as my old programmers would put it "an undesired feature"), unexpected things can happen. I know Blizz people also are aware of these problems, or the potential for problems anytime a "patch" is applied.

What I think most people are getting mad about is the lack of communication from the Blizzard staff. Anytime we worked on servers (ie took them down), we were forced to give an estimated up time. Sometimes we got them up early, as Blizz has also done in the past, sometimes we found other issues that required us to keep them down longer. The difference is we gave updates. We talked to our customers and explained the problems. It is this area that Blizzard seems to fail the most at.

I'd just like to point out that I have WAY more free time on my hands than I ever did as a teenager.

Eh, its a mixed bag - sure, my own wheels and no homework plus I'm single so no kids, but homework's been replaced with shopping, cooking, cleaning, resolving bills, etc. Worse yet, as I get older I'm finding that I'm getting older - scoring only two hours of sleep because I spent sleep time grinding levels or whatever isn't fun/easy anymore.

I work 8+ hours per day now, spend time with the girlfriend still, but overall, I do indeed have more time as an 'adult' then I did as a teenager. Strangely enough, this didn't happen 'til I was getting closer to the mid 20's. In high school I hardly had time for Tetris, let alone even THINKING about an MMO. Now I sometimes have time for six, or more, hours of MMO play per day. Very interesting.

Blizzard posts notices on the login page as soon as they are aware that maintenance or rolling restarts need to be performed. Sometimes this is on very short notice, but they do at least post something on the login page. When they need to extend ongoing maintenance, they also post this as a notice on the login page.

Compare this to other games (such as FFXI) where the servers could go down for days without any explanation at all or any estimate of when (or IF) the problem would be resolved.

Blizzard may not be perfect as far as communication goes, but they are far better than any other gaming company running and MMORPG, so they get some credit for that as far as I am concerned. Sometimes I have had to scroll down on the messages at the login screen to see maintenance or restart messages, but usually these appear at the top of the page on the login screen.

The purpose of this latest maintenance is to fix Arena and the rest. And I'm tired of it. How many hours of playable time have been lost this week to the Arena issues? Not all of us are teenagers with infinite time on our hands. Many of us log in prior to going to work, and these *daily* restarts are putting an end to that.

You STFU at least you could even log in. I couldn't even stay on my main server for 10 minutes. If this patches that problem I'll be happy. I work too but at least you could even play the game.

I don't give two Gnomes about Arena, and frankly, I don't know many people who do. I do know alot of people who are just as frustrated as I am that the entire game is constantly being shut down so that Blizz can *fail to fix* one miniscule aspect of it.

Miniscule? Are you joking? Are you retarded? I wouldn't call crashing and lag miniscule. Oh and millions play the game, you have to be ignorantly stupid to believe that there aren't a lot of arena players. And who said this is even fixing the arena? All I seen from Blizzard was to fix current in-game issues. That's a pretty vague sentence and includes a lot more than arena, pattycaeks.

Jhorbait wrote:

Consider that point. One small aspect of the game is causing it to be shut down. There are a hundred thousand *other* things people can be doing with their time besides Arena. Why are all "eleven million" of us being made to suffer for the comparatively few people who have nothing better to do than sit in queue waiting on Arena or WG?

WoW has Eleven million subscribers. You're assuming 0% of them arena. That's not true when you look at the arena boards. You're a stupid selfish whiny bish. Stop thinking about just your wants and needs because there are a ton of players that do play arena. And they have been doing other stuff lately. Stop lumping all players into your demographic, chowderhead.

Sure, we only pay $15/month. But that's $15/month I'm wasting if I can't play the game during my free time. And I can't. Tuesdays are already lost to me, especially with the latest trend of "Extended Maintenance". And with all the restarts and shut-downs this week, I've managed to log just over an hour in game. Do the math, readers. $15/month times 11 million players = Blizzard got rich this week and we got nothing but lagspikes and reboots and shut downs for our money.

I want to go over to your house and **** in your cheerios and crap in your boots. You're paying for a service. If you don't like the service or don't think it's worth the cost then stop paying for it. For just a second imagine, with that tiny little close-minded brain of yours, that you're a Blizzard employee. How would you like to be going through that much stress and pressure right now? Stop trying to make it look like Blizzard is some bad guy and is only after the money. They're not scamming players. They're providing an honest entertainment for our value.

Give us what we pay for, Blizzard. Play Time.
What do you think they're doing, assmunch? Playing hopscotch in the break room? No they're fixing our issues. People like you need to work in customer service because it's people like you that make it such hell.
