Really? What sort of nerd are you? I've never played a Mario game, and I know what a goomba is. Kids these days. Sheesh.

This.

Because some threads have viable reasons for being necro'd. For example, a thread about a movie might be posted in again once the movie's sequel is released. A thread like this, though, already had its day, and should stay dead.

Even in that case, it seems a new thread would be more appropriate and you'd never have to worry about necroing again if its such a big deal.

If we do that, then we get dangerously close to 4chan (they delete threads after a certain amount of time).

Real reasons, though, include that there may some day be a good reason to bump a thread. The listed example may not work, but it does happen.

I'm sorry I have to do this but your nerd credentials have been revoked :P

And, for the record, I don't hate kids in WoW. I just hate kids.

You guys are mean. Smiley: frown Just for the record, I never had a game system growing up. The only times I got to play video games were either at a friend's house or my babysitter's house. I didn't own my first console until I was 18 years old, a PS3 I got as a graduation present from my godmother. So it's not like I got extensive time playing Mario games as a kid. So ***** you all, I'm going home! Smiley: tongue

Well, I've only got an hour but I'm sure we can get it done in that time Smiley: tongue

I grew up with a few consoles through the years from the NES, SNES, N64, etc, so I guess I've always known the characters and story intricacies of Mario's life about as well as the music of the Beatles, or the socio-economic conditions of the cartoon Duck Tales, since I was a kid. Sadly, this made me eager to see the Super Mario Bros movie when it came out at the cinema, which created a level of disappointment that I never saw matched until my father told me that he didn't like the work of Terry Pratchett. Ah, to be young again. And also a robot.

I totally agree. I still maintain that the first TMNT movie isn't just a good "humanoid turtles do ninja on a vengeance quest" thing but it's also a really good movie in general. But then they made more.

Crap, I meant a PS2, not a PS3. I'm 27, so yeah... def wasn't 18 when the PS3 came out. =x My PS2 isn't a first generation either, btw. I'm guessing it's a second generation, I graduated from high school in 2002.

It has nothing to do with your skill.

There are plenty of folks in my guild with kids older than 14. We play wow to get away from them (sorry kids.) Its nothing personal, I just can't get away from my kids by going somewhere else with kids.

This story is actually relevant.
As I was playing my female night-elf druid, when I had a small, and relatively tame run in with another player. This player had just dueled my friend, and then decided to verbally abuse him afterwards. My friend had clearly won the dual, but this guy just kept saying that my friend sucked, and that he should quit the game, etc…
I told the guy to take a walk, he then used an emote. The emote want as follows. (I am using JerkPlayer and FemaleDruid in place of the real names.)
JerkPlayer RAPES FemaleDruid.

As for kids playing WoW, there is no way any child of mine under the age of 17 will go anywhere near this game! I understand that we live in a technological world where kids on-line get exposed to this kind of thing on a regular basis, but seriously… WHERE ARE YOUR PARENTS! JerkPlayer is probably only 14 years old himself/herself, and as for me, I just reported him and put him on ignore.

I was playing my female night-elf druid the other day when I was asked by another player to help them finish a quest. The player openly admitted to being 9 years old. I just couldn’t stop wondering if JerkPlayer’s character ever raped the nine-year-old’s character.

I have no problems with kids playing WoW. I do have problems with nine-year-olds chatting on-line with forty-year-olds. A big part of any MMO is that you CHAT with other players!!!

One final note, heynick wrote the following… I am 14 years old (stay away online predators). This just proves my point!

If kids want to play WoW, put them on their own server! I’ll lookout for the one’s I can, but for goodness sake, WHERE ARE THE PARENTS!

I let me nine year old play on my alliance hunter all the time as a reward for doing something really good at home or school. On the other hand as to where are the parents? I am sitting right there next to him as he plays for an hour. Do I really want to sit there and watch my son mess around and kill wolves in elwynn forest? No but its called being a parent and taking responsibility for what he sees and watches and plays.

Oh and I damn near died when my wife was telling a joke to the kids the other day and my nine year old said "lulz mom just lulz"

I love it when I try and write a post and stuff glitches and it puts up like 2 words...

Anyway, I don't mind kids, and I dislike immaturity. The two aren't necessarily related. I also got my PS2 when my brother got his PS3, and I know what a goomba is because I watched the Mario Bros. cartoon on Saturday morning. Smiley: nod

I think that covers everything.

Beer and boobs?

I only had 3 channels on the tv growing up. My parents didn't believe in paying for cable. =/ I got NBC, CBS and PBS. That was it. No Mario Bros. cartoon for me.

Oh Pigtails... Everything in the Mario games have a names... Goombas, Bob-ombs, Angry Sun (seriously... that's what he's called), Shy Guy, Chain Chomp, Koopa Troopa, Dry Bones... Just to name a few. Then obviously, the main character names: Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Bowser, Princess Daisy, etc.

Oh yes... I know all about Mario games... then again, I've been playing on systems way back to Atari (never did try Intellivision). Oh how I miss the Altered Beast game. I watched the video on it a while ago and made me laugh at how lame the game really was but cool at the same time.

I didn't even know about Princess Daisy until I recently played Mario Party at a friend's house. Who is she? O.o That game is a blast though. Even though I suck at the mini-games they have at the end of each round.

Also @ darkpoet: Casters do not need that much hit for a heroic. 17% hit is for raid bosses. You only need 6% hit for heroics.

Daisy was the princess in Mario Land, the first Gameboy game. She now spends all her time hanging out in the Mushroom Kingdom playing games while Sarasaland rots.
#250REDACTED, Posted: Jul 13 2011 at 4:49 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) For ZG and ZA I suggest 16% hit. not the starter heroics.. it's easily obtainable if they get the majority of the 346 gear and the rep gear from quest and tabors.. maybe you should read my post again :)

For example my Mage is only at 10% hit but I'm not going to put him in ZA and ZG and expect to do well or close to the dps needed to clear the place.. ya he pushes 10-12k but until I get the rest of this gear I'm not going to hold any group back and EXPECT to be carried like most people do now of days.

Now my shadow Priest who has the hit% doesn't push the dps. She pushes 8-9k needs to work on her DPS gear.. I wouldn't bring her to ZA or ZG cause she doesn't quite push the DPS needed for beating the timers.

But both of them beat the DPS of people wearing PVP gear who Blizzard allows in due to the item level requirements.. Had a dk pushing 5k dps YES 5k DPS who I couldn't kick who was all decked out in PVP gear cause " If its enough to let me que for it then its enough that I can do it"

He died at EVERY boss fight, during trash pulls from standing in crap or face pulling, and had a 4 hour to be kicked timer no matter who tried to kick him..... Oh and tried to ninja my damn tank sword lol. " But I'm DW FROST I CAN TANK!"

Bliz really needs to look into fixing timers...

We read your post, it's just factually wrong.

The bosses in ZA and ZG are level 87. The spell miss-chance for level 87 mobs is only 6%. If you have more hit than that, and don't plan on fighting raid bosses (level 88 mobs), you're wasting combat rating that could be reforged to crit/haste/mastery. If you're actively reforging for the raid-boss hit-cap (16%), and don't raid, you fail at understanding simple mechanics that are in your CHARACTER SCREEN tool-tips.

With the amount of primary stats on the iLevel 371 PvP gear, it's actually slightly better than some 346 blue pieces. More so if you're replacing a quest blue (333) because you can't get a bracer upgrade to save your life. That only goes for DPS and, to a lesser extent, healers; tanks value avoidance stats higher than Str and Stam.

I have never seen a level 85 DK try to tank in frost spec or frost presence, although I have seen a few try to DW tank. The lack of a Shield icon on the Frost summary seems to be a big clue for 99.9% of the population.
