That list didn't mention at least one nerf druids received, which is that the threat modifier has been completely removed from swipe, and the threat modifier on maul has been changed from 1.75% damage done to a flat amount, a la heroic strike. Apparantly, rather than fix a warrior problem that most people needed fixing, blizz decided to nerf something about druids that warriors mentioned in their petition to fix their problem...something they really didn't want.

Oh, and maz. That tranquility change is for the CURRENT max rank, the lvl 60 one. The one after that is something closer to 1600 per tick.

Also, insect swarm had it's damage increased a pretty good deal (so that, ya know, it's actually a worthy DoT now, plus a damn good debuff) and the highest 3 ranks had the mana cost reduced. So there's good and bad for us druids. Main thing I'm mad about is the idol changes. They single handedly killed idol of ferocity (used to be great for cat cause it reduced the cost of mangle) and really hurt brutality in soloing/pvp (though it's admittedly more of a buff when tanking since you usually have plenty of rage then anyway.) Also, no desire for idol of health, which used to make healing touch 1.5 seconds faster...now just increases healing by 100 done by healing touch. Not horrible, mind you, but very meh in comparison to what it used to do (especially because of where you get it from.) Especially since, as far as I can see, it and Idol of Longevity from naxx (health is from aq40) are still the only Healing Touch focused idols. I could see it if there was something they wanted you to replace it with...but there isn't. And at 70, it's much more of a nerf than it is now...and it's STILL a nerf now, imo.

Meh...I'm just whinin a bit. Overall I'm pretty happy with druids.

Actually, you are incorrect. That’s how it worked for the first year or so, but several months ago it was changed in a patch. We could indeed change our profession specialization is we unlearned our profession completely. I think there was an addition step as well, but since I never did it I didn’t worry about all the specifics.

I’m just curious if this new ability to switch specializations in smithing and leatherworking is a one time thing or if we’ll get to repeat it. If we could repeat it I could see making all the BoP items you wanted in one specialization and then switching to another to make those items. Unless, of course, those items require the specific specialization to use them.

Really? Well cool then.

Wyverns, bats, griffons, and hippogryps now make noices while in flight.

This has to be the most useless addition ever. Ever.

Now when I'm flying from Thousand Needles to Ogrimmar and go watch TV for a couple minutes, all I hear from my computer is grunting every minute or so...

how is that an incresase? it used to be 33%...

No AE's damage "inheritence" used to be 14.something %
(casttime penalty)

Edited, Jan 11th 2007 6:24am by Sjans

14.3%, which was 43% because of cast time (1.5/3.5) divided by 3 for being aoe.

if the end damage is 25%, that means my ae will be going up nearly to double! and the 33% ae factor has been reduced to less than 50%. nice.

so it becomes more viable for a small number of targets and bad for >10.

thanks for the info.

Hmm, I used to have icons for 'Shoot Gun', 'Shoot Bow' and 'Shoot Crossbow'. Now I just have 'Shoot'. This appears to be a major, and undocumented, nerf in some way I haven't figured out yet. :p

Shmii died because of this. Smiley: frown

Would have killed enemy Rogue with 1 shot but because of change action button was emptied.

Are you sure it’s your mount? I’ve heard stories about orc cooking. It could just be your character’s digestive system protesting your cruel and inhumane treatment.

It appears to be a choice just like the refunding of talents. You visit the trainer of the specialization you have, and they give you the option.

As for the crafted items, all of the specialized items in TBC require you to have that specialization to use. All of the nifty Hammersmith items, require you to be a Master Hammersmith to use. All of the nifty swords require Master Swordsmith, etc, to use.

The existing patterns have been tweaked to drop the specialization requirements. My brother had several swordsmith plans that he was holding for a guildmate that he can now use (his warrior is an Axesmith). My rogue, an Elemental Leatherworker, can now learn the Frostsaber Leggings pattern that's been sitting in the bank for the last several months.

What exactly, btw, is totemic call? Can't find it in the talent calculator or list of shaman spells.
#37 Jan 11 2007 at 11:25 AM Rating: Decent
It allows a shamman to recall his totems and regain 25% of the mana he used to summon them. Not sure which level it becomes available though.

Recall as in bring them to him, or summon the same set he dropped previously? Either way, though I'm alliance, this is certainly a step in the right direction for the long standing problems with the totem system.

Totemic Recall destroys all of the totems you have out at that moment and gives you 25% of the mana cost back.

Its basically for things like picking up your totems so patrols behind you don't run into them.

IIRC its trainable at level 20, go speak to your Class Trainer.

Aaah. So it's their solution to not being able to click off totems...not too bad, especially since it gives you a portion of the mana back.

It's for the flying from town to town...it's not my mount.

It gets freaky, too, when I am flying somewhere and I minimize the screen ans surf the net and in the background there are all these noises...sounds like I'm getting ganked or something...
