There's a thread on the OBoards as well. It contains more notes about professions than the one on Curse, for example.

I remember when Blizzard was stating they were reducing dmg on aoes with multiple mobs and all the mages were crying nerf. More than 10 mobs is hardly a kick in the pants. If you're killing more than 10 mobs at once you need to be brought down a notch or two or a group without a mage should be able to handle the same amount of mobs using different tactics. Good move on Blizz and 10 mobs is very reasonable.

Yeah, I always had the impression that mages are insanely powerful with their AoE, seeing how they brought down groups while I was killing one at a time. And I don't think this will hurt raiding either. Just a few encounters, and slowing down a bit is not so hard.

AoEs are what mages do! I, for one, am grateful when they reduce the number of mobs roaming around the screen.

What, Leatherworkers got the dump? :/
#7 Jan 10 2007 at 2:14 PM Rating: Decent
Those notes are incomplete. That is true for Leatherworking as well.

Most of those changes were in the patch notes, by the way.

here.

from patch notes: wrote:

Professions
- Enchantments
- The Crusader Enchantment now decreases in potency for wielders above
level 60.
- The Icy Chill Enchantment now decreases in potency for wielders above
level 60.
- The Lifestealing Enchantment now decreases in potency for wielders
above level 60.
- Blacksmithing/Leatherworking specialization has changed with
specialization providing recipes to make powerful items that only
you can wear. You can now unlearn a blacksmithing or leatherworking
specialization and learn a different one by finding the appropriate
NPC, paying the fee to unlearn your old specialization, and then
find the new specialist to learn a new one.
Also, all of the old
blacksmithing/leatherworking recipes that required specialization no
longer require it and can be learned by any blacksmith/leatherworker.

- Silver/Golden/Mystic/Runic Spellthread have been increased in power.

So does that mean I can make Tribal stuff for anyone if I am Tribal specialized, but I can only make Dragonscale and Elemental stuff for myself and it will be BoP?

Wording on the notes is kinda weird.

It means as a Tribal Leatherworker, I can make all Tribal/Elemental/Dragonscale Patterns that do not come out in TBC. As a Tribal, I am now able to make Stormshroud, Living, Black/Green/Blue Dragonscale, Every leather pattern available from CC rep, TBros Rep, and all the patterns that come out of knott's cashe in DMnorth.

As a collector, I am happy. As a person that used to make Hides of the Wild for money, I am kinda nervous. Ofc, how good with Hides of the Wild really be now after TBC comes out?

Now, that being said, Tribals will only be able to learn new Tribal Patterns once the Expansion goes live. Same for Elemental, and Dragonscale.

All the same apply to Blacksmithing, not too sure about Engineering.

About paying a cost the unlearn a specialization, before, you had to completely unlearn LW to drop a specialization. This patch seems to make it where you only unlearn Specialized patterns, and keep your 300 skill.

Nice to hear about Blacksmithing. I've halted Dunworthe's blacksmithing at 225 because I'm not sure which way I want to go with it. On the one hand I'd like to be able to make nice weapons to make up for my lack of DPS as a Protection paladin, but it makes sense as a tank to be able to craft armor. Yet again, it will surely remain that 90% of the best stuff in the game is found, not made.

Glad to see I'm not the only person who was equally confused about both of these... :)

Hmm, I used to have icons for 'Shoot Gun', 'Shoot Bow' and 'Shoot Crossbow'. Now I just have 'Shoot'. This appears to be a major, and undocumented, nerf in some way I haven't figured out yet. :p

I'd like to add that the shapeshifting costs for Druids have been reduced. I am unaware of the exact figures, but it's definately noticeable.

So are Southshores.

So, shall we get ready for raid attemps in soon future?

EDIT:

Also, I apparently missed this:

No. Before, you picked one, you stayed that one, wether you unlearnt and relearned or not, since the quest to choose one could only be done once.

They fixed the Felhunter`s Grimoire of Tainted Blood Rank 4 bug. Now the felhunter can learn that skill.
Also, Demonic Armor costs alot less. Something from 1500 mana to 600 mana now.

mages were intended as the primary aoe class.

i can think of several places where you may be hitting more than 10 targets and have to do so due to encounter design. the problem is that you cannot choose which 10 targets to hit. so any adds slipping in will reduce my effectiveness killing ALL the targets i'm aiming for.

i presume it also affects warlocks. if not, why?

1.) Bear gives more armor, which is always nice, I suppose, but what about the health bonus? More or less? 25%? So if I have 1000 health in caster form, I have 1250 in Bear/Dire Bear form? And if I have 3500 health (like my Druid does), I get 4375 health in Dire Bear form? Bummer, that's a kick in the groin for me. I used to have 5000 health.

EDIT: I know it'll be a buff once I get better gear. Scaling > everything.

2.) Tranquility heals for 1092 every second at level 70?! Holy sh*t...

3.) Pounce changes made me wet myself. Mangle change is useless seeing as I never use Shred (I do more damage with Mangle, using less energy).

4.) Talking to NPCs while in forms is uber.

5.) The Map icon is still annoying as hell. You can't move it and it ruins my icon settings for all my addons. Who needs an icon for the Map anyways? It's not like we haven't gone 2 years with the M-key only...

There was always the button at the bottom, which has been replaced with the lFG button.

I agree though, who needs a stinking button?

Goddam it! They nerfed Noggenfogger. Again! And I don't mean the 2 minute cooldown. The slowfall efffect only lasts 20-30 seconds, instead of the 2 minutes previously. >.< Stop nerfing it, dammit!
