Hello, I use t play World of Warcraft somewhat of a long time ago and I am going to buy my own account this time. Last time I played World of Warcraft on a friends account. So I am wondering if anoyne would wanna tell me their Race, Class, Level, and Sever. So I can join one of you in a server and play with you? Also what would be th best race and class in your opinion? Thank You For Your Time...

Ignore the ahole above me, youll find there are alot of them on these boards, people who have nothing better to do than berate people because they think they are superior to everyone, and think that post count is meaningful.

Orc, Hunter, 52, Bloodhoof
Tauren, Warrior, 39, Bloodhoof

While it would be fun to get to know the many posters here in the game, you have to realize that most of them are high level and involved in end-game pursuits.

It's nice to have a high level person run you through quests but you don't gain much actual "playing experience" by doing that. It is better (at least for your first characters) to play the game and learn as you go. You will find that you learn a lot more by grouping with people your own level and figuring out how to work together and cooperate than you would learn by running around a high level who just kills everything with one hit.

And - while I am a generally helpful person, I mainly play Trolls so I would find it difficult to help out a Human Paladin since I don't get a very warm reception from the players in the Human areas. (Though when I play my Night Elves, I am often treated with friendly curiosity when I'm in Horde areas.)

the OP originally said that he was going to buy a high-level character, that's why webjunky wrote what he wrote.

I don't think he ever mentioned buying a high-level character, unless i just missed the original post. He only said buying his account, which I took to mean that he was just going to buy his own copy of the game. I don't think the OP deserves a rate down if it's a misunderstanding.

In any case, with the way the posts are right now, it does make webjunky look like a jerk. I think montaghar's rate down was definitely undeserved.

So, a snide comment by Webjunky makes him a 'jerk' in your assessment and yet this post:

is fine, in your opinion, even though it bypasses the profanity filter to call another poster a banned word and then proceeds to insult a number of other good, helpful people who post here.

I guess we all have our own idea of what makes a post worth a rate-up or down and that's the way it goes.

I don't remember any other post by GodBaer but I read Webjunky's comment as merely a cynical view about how so many people come here with a desire to play the game and then want everyone to tell them what race and class to play and then want someone to go step by step over how to get to level 60 with a billion gold.

actually, in some other mmo's, racial traits play a very large role in class viability, and it is very much a possibility that a "smart shopper" would need to know the difference.

bingo. he had been bombed to a karma rating of 1.8, after TWO posts. it takes more than a simple misunderstanding to elicit that kind of response. he came right out and said he was going to buy a high level character. i was going to make a snide comment as well, but settled on rating down both posts instead. next time i'll make sure and quote the OP so there's no confusion.

two things here:
1) he's got 11 posts and a 2.84 rating, and i'm not 100% certain that you can determine which of his posts were rated down. iow, yesterday's rate downs would make today's post show up as default instead of decent.
2) you'll drive yourself crazy worrying about rate ups and rate downs and whether or not they were deserved or not.

well, i didnt rate him down, and i dont have many posts, because i only post when i think i can help someone, not to tell them they are a noob blah blah blah. Thats the point of a forum, to help people out and talk about whatever the forums are for. Regardless of how many times youve seen the same post it doesnt matter, unless you close the forums to new members, your always gonna get the same topics.
If you cant help someone out, then dont post. And im not saying that everyone here is a ahole, but there are too many. And if i wanted to bypass the profanity filter i would have done it more creatively. I choose not to swear, and calling someone an ahole is not swearing. If the op said he was gonna buy a character, then edited it and i missed it, then i apologize, but when i read it it didnt say that.

Montaghar, I wasn't trying to be an 'ahole' to the OP.

Do you know how many posts we get per day that ask us what the best race/class combo are?

to the OP: THERE IS NOT BEST RACE/CLASS. I suggest you read the FAQ at the top of the forums.

Another suggestion: Why don't you just join your friends server instead of asking complete strangers on an internet forum?

Do you also not know just how many helpful posts I do make? There are a LOT of regular posters here (including me) that answer a lot of questions. I even started a thread dedicated to new players asking any question they wanted to and it even got up to 7 (or 8) pages long.

Do you know what question that I don't answer though?

"what is the best class/race combo"

Do you know why? One: there isn't one. Two: this is covered in the FAQ.

Why don't you take you're self-righteous, conclusion-jumping **** and actually CONTRIBUTE something.

I only said one simple line, and you berate me. You don't know me. You don't know how helpful I've been in the past. Don't insult me.

edit: Yea, I've had a bad day.
