Hello

We are making a documentary for the BBC on psychology and what society considers ‘normal’. Whether or not ‘gaming addiction’ exists is a controversial subject and I would love to speak to any gamers who play a lot and have an opinion over whether their behaviour is or isn’t problematic. We have no agenda to prove and this is not a sensationalist programme. If you would like to share your story we would love to hear from you at contact@libertybell.tv.

hi, i dont know if this helps, but, i used to play this game called 'RuneScape', and at one point, i was playing this "cursed" game from about 19:00 until 4:30, only to have to awaken for school at 7:30, meaning 3 hrs sleep 6 hrs school 3 hrs non runescape, 9 1/2hrs runescape, the result, underachievement in school, short temper, and a bad attitude problem, if this fails to help you, just ignore it :)

I have a dayjob, (programmer) a social life and i play WoW.
Lots of my RL friends also play WoW, ive been a nerd (playing computergames) all my life. So i know how to handle my game, for me its just another game i play. I talk to my RL friends more since i "see" them more.
I even had a RL meeting last week with other guildies (dutch and a spanish girl that found her dutch boyfriend thanks to WoW, also in guild and about 8 other people ive never met IRL before).

It does cause me to post from work once in a while :P

Okay, Darqflame, where did you find the Tarna avatar? She's only one of the most kick-butt females ever. That avatar totally rocks.

ANy documentary that is going to talk about the psychology of MMOs really should interview Nick Yee of the Daedelus Project. I sent the OP an e-mail to that effect.
