Heroic Strick vs. Deep Wounds for WarriorFollow

#1 Jan 08 2007 at 7:59 PM Rating: Decent
Looking at the primart tree build for an Arms Warrior it seems I've made a mistake using up 3 points to max out Heroic Strike. Now I have the ability to get Deep Wounds which appears to render HS obsolete.

Thoughts/suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,

Bill

I don't play a warrior, but the talents appear completely different to me. Am I missing something?

Yeah, they're completely different, you sure you dont mean Mortal Strike?

Yes, I take your point. It's just that they both cause damage with a mele strike (it appears to me that DW is more destructive) and I guess that is where my true frustration lies.

I'm a level 25 and, basically, have five offensive buttons to hit on my tool bar with the remainder used for potions, hearth stone, etc. During battle it is becoming confusing to know which talents to load onto the tool bar and still be effective. Am I limiting my choices?

Is there somewhere where I can educate myself as to which to include and how to effectively bring them into play while fighting (rather than just letting my character auto fight)?

Many thanks,

Bill

Don't worry about spending the points. You're going to respec at 60 more then likely anyways.

As for your buttons on the bar, I say that you should move your potions to your second action bar and keep your offensive tanking abilities on the first action bar.

OK, RS, I'll take you advice. Do you keep something at your finger tips to add health when in dire need?? Seems time is of the essence when things are working a bit against you....

Under the User Interface, there are options for extra bars. On my warrior, I have the lower left bar turned on and have abilities there that are useable in all stances: the shouts, cleave, sunder armor, etc. If you do that, you should have more room on your bars. The lower right bar is also nice.

Deep Wounds isn't a move, it automatically triggers off a critical strike. It's as much of a move as Cruelty (Passive 5% Crit).

Imp. Heroic _is_ pretty worthless, but don't sweat it for now.

Ah, illumination. Thank you all!

Imp. heroic strike isn't worth it. It's primarily used when tanking and when you are tanking, you build up tons of rage anyway that you won't much care if the rage cost of HS is lower or not.

like someone already suggested, use more than one action bar. have your primary combat moves on the first. then put some quite common stuff on the second bar (like Whillenn said maybe the shouts or the abilities with longer cooldown).

now, you can map some extra keys to the buttons on the second bar. maybe do ctrl-1 to ctrl-9 for the second bar. or just map a few buttons to keys around your movement keys. for example, i don't need a button to sheathe/unsheathe my weapons, so i have mapped a button on the task bar to it. same goes for the button to display health bars over mobs.

you see where this is going. put your main abilities on the number bar. then decide on what other functions you really need at button press. remap some buttons to those and you're done.
