What is the point of Slam?Follow

So I just rejoined the game after a long break and took up my warrior again. I'm at lvl 42 and since the changes that happeded while I was gone I got to respec for free. I chose a mostly pure Arms setup but one thing has been bugging me.

what the hell is the use of slam? I tried it a bunch of times back when I was a DW/fury build and all it really did was slow me down as I didnt attack while it was "casting" and the pittly extra damage (heroic strike gives better +dmg) wasn't worth it, on top of that it can be interrupted and set back to make things even longer. I had figured it was just for people with extra slow weapons but now that I'm using 2H's it still seems to do nothing but be slow and crappy. what am I missing? is there some uber secret I don't know about?

On a side note, I had heard that Weapon Mastery (+50/100% anti disarm) was broken vs NPC's but worked in PVP/BG, is this still true and if so when is the next update?

Slams the opponent, causing weapon damage plus 32.

A strong attack that increases melee damage by 44 and causes a high amount of threat.

i have yet to use slam expect to play with it, but from the looks of it, slam might be great for when you are OT and not solo, pvp, or MT.

It's a very specialized, situational skill. Put it away. It's only worthwhile;

a) With a 2H fury build (Slam after every autoattack with the .5 cast time does work pretty well.)
b) With a full Rage bar as Arms.

In short... put it away and forget about it. You may use it in raids at 70 but otherwise... you just won't. It resets the swing timer upon completion (i.e. have to wait Weapon Delay before you get another swing) so it requires precise timing to work well and... well, just put it away.

On a related note slam looks to be losing its ability to be interrupted by damage while casting so if you're able to get your hands on a slow enough weapon with a high top end you might find it generating more threat than sunder when tanking.

We'll just have to see how the numbers work out later on.
